Will the iPad Air 2 Drop Price before Christmas at DS, Kmart, HN?

Hey, I'm looking at buying an Ipad Air 2 as a Christmas present for my partner, but I'm just wondering if they'll drop price before Christmas? I just want to have a rough idea of when I should purchase one.

Does anyone remember if last year the Ipad air's dropped price during december? Or even after December, say boxing day?

I'm only going for the 16gb wifi which is $618, though a bit cheaper would be nice. I'd prefer buy from a local shop pick-up, so Kmart, Target, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, Big W, Jb-hifi.

    You wont see a RRP drop, you might find somewhere doing 5% off at max, but in general the other time they will drop is when a new model is released.

    best bet through amex and wollies deals

    250 get 50 back at myer
    if you can get 2 amex cards with that, get 250 in gifts cards (I just did that)
    that's 100 saved

    then at wollies get 50 myer card, get 10 back
