Online FRIENDSHIP Sites - Not Just Singles/Dating

Hi folks. I was just trying to find a source where I can find new friends. All I keep coming up with is sites like RSVP - and you have to sign up before you can even see if they have "friendship" categories. Does anyone know of either sites that are friendship only, or, are dating sites but do have friendship-only categories?

    I have often wondered about something that would allow couples to find other couples to just be friends with. I moved to Sydney years ago and all of my friends are through my work in the city and there is nothing near where I live. I have 2 kids so it is not like I can just go to the pub etc.

    Those dating sites you're thinking of are geared towards Singles, and couples who are swingers. Meetup is what you're looking for.

    Have checked out all the suggestions - thanks! :-) Seems everyone my age (mid-40s) already has enough friends. ;-) I'm not into the whole drinking/pubs/clubs/rock music thing, which is the setting most people kick off such things.

      Meetup as per vivianne's suggestion is a good one. They have all sorts of groups.
