P&O 12 Night Asian Adventure Cruise $1,099 ($1,799 Twin Share Includes Free Flight to Fremantle)

40

Esp Given the prices of flights syd/bris/malb to WA (about $500), this is a great price, a 12 night cruise including a couple of spots in Indonesia (Lombok, Padang Bay, Komodo), if I had $1,800 I'd be there.

Date of cruise given on email I was sent is 31 Jan 2010, not sure if it's valid for other cruises too.

Note too that their website now states that the free flights are only for twin share (the $1,799 price).

  • Wow this is VERY cheap…esp considering a cruise includes the cost of almost 24 hours of food, entertainment AND accomodation (which is all very high quality) - at a price that is ALOT cheaper than what you would pay for the same food, accomodation and entertainment on land.

  • Cruises are usually very good value… I just cruised the Greek Isles and I'm pretty certain if I had to cover everything individually (food, transport, accommodation, entertainment) it would have cost me a lot more!

There is a deal cheaper somewhere online, my wife was researching this… pretty much same as this, except with $200 onboard credit… believe me, you'll need it and then some!

  • what do you have to spend your money on once you're on board….isnt it all inclusive

    • Alcohol and entertainment (such as gambling) are not included.

      • Drinks (inc non alcoholic - though they sometimes have options of paying a one off cost (Eg $50) for unlimited soft drinks)
      • Souvenirs
      • Things like lollies or potato chips. (Not that you'd really need to eat those types of things, with all the food they give you on there!)
      • Shore excursions if you choose to take them at the ports you stop at.
      • Treatments at the spa eg massage, facials, etc
      • Art auctions (Free to attend, obviously not free if you win!)
      • Any photographs taken (they take HEAPS of "professional" photographs (ie a camera person setting you up in front of a background) which are free to pose for) that you choose to purchase
      • Tips (they have an automatic tipping which comes off your daily account each day (ie a card that you use to pay for things like drinks etc) unless you ask them to remove it)
      • Any doctors fees or medicine you may have to purchase onboard

Each cruise line might differ slightly…this is the case with both P&O and Princess Cruises.

    • Yep, as above… not sure about P&O, but on Princess cruises there are also 'gratuities', basically tips for the staff on board that are automatically added to your account each day. I don't mind the system, as you don't have to worry about tipping while on board.

For my cruise the gratuity was US$10.50 per person, per day, so for my 14 day cruise my wife and I paid just under US$300. Service was fantastic so they more than deserved it!
