Hi Guys,
Just got an email from EB Games this morning and it appears they're discounting Nintendo eShop cards for just over a week, a great time to stock up to bring down the usual high prices when buying digital!

Available in $15, $30 and $60 increments

T&Cs from the email:

Limit of five (5) Nintendo eShop cards per customer. Available from November 20th to December 1st. Not to be combined with any other offer.

"your cheaper price is due to you paying for it for a second time."

yeah, normally Nintendo charge you the same price, or more for releasing their old titles for the newer platform, or giving them a paint and texture upgrade.

Nintendo REALLY need to develop some new IPs and stop flogging poor Mario, Zelda, Pokemon etc.

I got them cheap also except i bought the original versions using free points from connecting a heap of Wii's to the internet ;-)

        • @BeauKilla: Does that wink indicate some sort of console ID spoof? Got a guide?

        • @Agret: I wish, they were all friends wii's that I was modding, I always wondered if something like that was possible but I didn't have a spare Wii at the time to try. That promotion has ended now so I guess we'll never know.

    • did you originally buy it for retro games or new releases? The new releases at brick and mortar stores or places like ozgameshop or pretty competitive ($40-$60 depending on how new it is).

I have a basic Wii U so I wouldn't be able to download that much, the free MK8 DLC and update and free Zelda game from the deal has already filled up most of it :/

Might have to get an external just for the upcoming MK8 DLC's (if that works).

      • Certainly will, just buy a HD though that has it's own power supply, less issues…

And they're cheaper. Who needs portable when it's always plugged in?

        • The only down side to having an external is you have to forgot it all in nintendos format, windows can't access it.

        • @DrKazanovaKK: It's really the same as buying an internal drive for the 360 or PS3/PS4 except you don't have to worry about installing it. The 360 drives were stupid branded ones that were massively inflated and PS3/PS4 just take regular notebook drives except for some reason in this market it's cheaper to buy an external than an internal drive so WiiU is the cheapest storage upgrade :)

      • Comparing a sales price to a full rrp, yeah makes sense!

Got 5 x $60 cards from Swanston St (Melb), had quite a few more left.
Now to buy some games that have been on my wish list for a while, also got the premium version for the extra $7 codes
    Win Win!

    • I went in to buy a few there an hour or so ago and there wasn't a whole lot hanging up…surely they have more stock away somewhere thought! good deal! 20% and $7 deluxe codes! :)

  • Got a $15 and a $60 card from the EB store at Warringah mall. They have sold out of $30 cards.
    Thanks OP!

  • Hurstville only has $60 cards left. Make sure you ask at the counter too, I didn't see any up in the store

  • I got it today - scanned in at the correct price - however I did need to remind them of the price - assume they won't do it unless you mention it…

  • Link Between Worlds vs Bravely Default vs Fire Emblem Awakening. Which one to pick?

    • Link Between Worlds!

  • Sydney Town Hall Galleries has more than 10 $60 cards left. Go go go!

  • I wonder if the limit of 5 is from EB or eshop?

  • All values still available at Castle Hill EB. Guy behind the counter said they had more to restock if they ran out as well.

  • Can anyone tell me what games are worth a digital purchase (using these cards)?

I'd love to buy plenty of credit but want to be sure I will use it.
