Missus Wants an Asian Beach Holiday. Any Idea Where This Is..?

Does anyone know where this might be or could suggest somewhere similar? I wanna find a dirt-cheap accom island, stunning white beach, just like this one - not a busy one though. The Philippines perhaps, or Sri Lanka? Any suggs on some idyllic beach dropout island would be much appreciated. Asia of course - cos I'm a tight arse, and while I love my wife, I don't want to over-capitalise on her!

    Koh Samui. But not around Chaweng (east) where all the school-leavers and partiers are. On the Western end, there are all sorts of quiet, great resorts with private beaches, etc. And cheap (think $30 a night) Koh Tao is the same deal, but the recent backpacker murders turned the place into a circus.

      A wealthy friend honeymooned in the Maldives and was unimpressed with the value for money. So I expect I would die of a heart attack.

      Lol but it's cheaper to holiday in Phuket for a week.

      Even taking the boat trip to the islands, elephant riding, Phantasea etc all into account.

      I'd love to go to the Gold Coast again do not get me wrong was a great holiday but cost me much more than the white beaches in Phuket.

    My parents likes Mui Ne beach in Vietnam. I have never been so I cannot tell you from personal experiance.

    it is a cheap and quiet coastal area. Not a glamourous type of resort area

    El Nido, Philippines. Beautiful beaches and day trips to islands/reefs just like that.

      Have to agree, I have travelled a lot around Asia and El Nido so far is my favorite. But don't expect 5 star. However there are a couple of nice resorts on islands close to El Nido if that is what you are after. http://www.elnidoresorts.com/elnido/

    Living at a beach area, try the base of Mt Everest, trip Gold Coast to Singapore, Singapore stop over, vist beaches there and across border need visa, Singapore to india see beaches, base of Everest, etc. Buy gold. come home.
