Currently looking at refrigerators and find very few of them have both enough fridge space and freezer space, so looking at getting a stand alone fridge.
We've had so many issues with Fisher and Paykel appliances in the past that we won't go near them. Likewise, LG, which seem to have a lifetime of little more than the warranty period. Fed up with buying whitegoods that pack up within a short period, so hoping to get decent quality that will last.
Is there any reason NOT to buy Miele? They're energy efficient, seem to be well made, and I can't find any bad reviews, so hoping there might be someone here who has actually owned one who can give feedback? I don't need to know that "Samsumg is cheaper" etc- the chemical smell that came out of those last time we were looking was enough to put me off for life. Just after input on Miele please. Yes, the initial cost is slightly (though not significantly) higher than some, but the energy savings will make up for that in very little time. The only downside is that they don't seem to be as negotiable instore as some others.
I always keep in mind where the whitegoods are designed in, as the environment of your household would affect how long the product lasts for. I.e. Something designed in cooler climates will not last long in warmer climates. E.g. Vw 4x4 fail in warmer climates (miner friends in darwin have plenty of personal experience with amaroks in darwin going belly up), where as the toyota 4x4, that have been tested/designed for aussie conditions, dont fail.
In saying that, I have yet to see a poorly made miele product (see smeg reviews for examples of poor quality/reliability, nice design), just dont expect it to last forever for the price you pay (10 year +) especially if your location does get hot for long periods of the year.
