Just got one of these for my wife. She'll use it to trace photos onto canvas before painting.
Was discounted to $299 - now on clearance at $169.
Same projector as per http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/16427
I had a quick play with photos & vids - worked great.
Converted vids to .avi without any issues with supplied software.
Plenty of reviews on the Youtube.

Well, I really like it.
Some others do too http://gizmodo.com/5099074/aiptek-pocketcinema-v10-pico-proj…
Don't forget - lot of reviews are based on the price of $300+
If you are looking for hi def projector or one to be used in bright room - you'll be disappointed.
But if you want something you can stick in your pocket, put some photos or vid clips and show to your friends/family in a darkened room - you'll like it.
Like some reviewer put it: "In the right conditions you'll be pleasantly surprised by the features and fun of the Aiptek PocketCinema V10."
Another in depth review http://metku.net/index.html?path=reviews/aiptek-pocketcinema…fair call dude, appreciate the ozbargain review.
:) I saw this but didn't think of that purpose :) Sounds interesting :)
Don't think you could go wrong at that price, if you don't like it, you could easly sell at a profit on eBay! (cheapest for the v10 seems be ~$300).
Should have bought the demo at 99 ;) although new is pretty good price

It's good for what it is, not meant to replace a standard projector and it needs to be in a dark environment to be worthwhile. Looks like it can display about a 20inch screen before getting too dull.I forgot which review it was, but someone wrote that the end will get very hot as there is no fan inbuilt and that the batteries won't last to see the end of a movie … things to watch out for if you do buy the unit … I guess you could watch shorter shows like tv episodes or something :)
My brother just bought one yesterday.
The room has to be pretty dim otherwise the image just appears dull… also the max effective range is about 5 feet (2.5 meters or so) so you can display up to around 30 to 40 inches before the image starts to break up.
The unit does get very hot — and the 1600mha battery lasts for around an hour and half, so full length movies as foundit suggested probably won't be watcheable.
We found no way to directly connect it to our computer. The box came with a set of female AV to 3.5mm jack cable (looks like http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/bestpaipai/3_55mm_to_3rca-1.jpg ) so you're going to need some kind of DVI to AV connector in order to hook up your laptop to the projector. Since we didn't have an adapter on hand we connected it to our X360…. it was just unplayable because it was too dark, the refresh rate was too low (50hz) and too low-res (640*480). So gaming on this projector is a definite no :(
The projector has 1 GB of memory built in (SD card expandable), which allows you to view images or play videos/music on the projector without the need of an external device, which is neat. It claims to support MP4 and AVI, but when we scrolled down the menu to select an mp4 file, the unit froze up when it tried to generate a preview image. The power button didn't work so we had remove the battery and put it back in, then tried again with an AVI file. Even though it's low res the image quality was sharp and the speakers were quite loud (if not distorted)
All up it's a decent projector for how small it is, but don't expect good quality from it.
lol at the review
