Hi guys,
What's the best and cheapest way to get there by 4am on a Friday morning?
I'm in Burwood and trains don't seem to work at that time… Taxis are a no no by default, as they cost too much, or is this idea wrong?
Just need transport. Cheers

Can you do that? Check in like 5 hours earlier, and just sleep while waiting, in the terminal waiting for the gates to open?

Maybe the last bus or train, then snooze 4 hours?
Unfortunately that website doesn't have info for Sydney Domestic. I'll ring them up.
You could look into airport shuttles or use uber?
Why do you need to be at the domestic airport at 4am? Seems early for a domestic flight.
It's a 6am flight
For a 6 am domestic flight you don't need to be there 2 hours early. getting there at 5am should be fine if you have checked baggage, no checked baggage then 5:20-30 is fine.
To make check in faster, check yourself in online.
there is no public transport to domestic terminal at that time that i know off
Ok thanks for the tip. 1 hour earlier.
@inose:
But DO check your itinerary to be sure.
When I flew from T3 last week, mine had minimum of 45 minutes prior to departure.
Sometimes it's only 30 minutes.
Why stay longer than you have to?
International airport or domestic? I'm assuming International given the time.
Just looked up 131500, seems you can use the NightRide buses.
Nightride Burwood to City (N50)
Nightride City to Wolli Creek (N10)
then walk 22 minutes.
Do you have a lot of luggage?
Uber with discount code.
4:11am train from burwood to central
4:42am train from central to domestic airport
Arrives at 4:51am, plenty of time for your domestic flight.
I live near Burwood too..
If your flight is domestic and is at 6am.
Try the 400 bus. It is the easiest way (and cheapest). First bus is 4.45 from Burwood station and gets there about 5.29. Only thing is, it won't work if you have checked luggage or if the traffic is bad/bus late.
a Taxi ride is roughly 50 during normal hours (excluding M5 toll if you that way. so at 4am, its I think an extra 20% more. Use that as reference compared with a Uber ride.
hope that helps
Unless you're flying tiger then you want to get there just before 5am just to be safe, but yeah as everyone said you wont need to be there at 4am..
Whenever I visited my mum I always stayed at hostel at Central then caught Domestic train (platform 23, every 15 mins) Always got there in plenty of time for 6am fights back to Perth.
As a cost reference: Cost to me was around $90 all up.
Now stay at Ibis Budget Airport (as usually get a hire car and can return it to airport), again about $90.
Checkin on line the day before. Print bording pass. If you take hand luggage only, you can get the first bus 400 from Burwood to a/port which arrives at SYD domestic at 0529.
Go the night before?
