I want to know what type of websites people are going to build using these domains (umm yes ninja, but a school, tutorial, unrelated?) and what the name of your domain is.
Only seems to be some .ninja domains, popular words are still $125 :/
Isn't that the case with all TLDs?
Not sure, every TLD I've tried to buy with a popular word has already been taken so I've never been able to find out the price.

It appears that some domains are "reserved" and demand high price. For example,
- bargain.ninja — $625 rego + $125/year renewal
- ozbargain.ninja — $8.95 rego + $14.99/year renewal

There is nothing I can see in the T's & C's that says 'stfu, we'll charge more for those that we think are actually worth something'

I've always suspected that domain retailers monitor availability searches and if you don't grab straight away then they do.
GoDaddy has been accused in the past of registering domains that potential customers have availability-searched from their website (therefore forcing you to buy it off them, rather than registering on the open market).
This is also the entire business case of domain squatters. I'm assuming with all the new TLDs that business is good.
