fiio x1? I think you can get the sansa from around $40 from US sellers. I haven't heard much about Aus sellers. I know Big W stocked something similar many years ago . Try ebay. or even a ipod nano 6th gen might be in your price range
Why do you need the 8GB model? I just replaced my recently dead one with a 4GB one from Amazon for US$34 and then install Rockbox and add 32GB SDcard.
Love the clip+ for running - nothing else I have come across gets close
