This is also the easiest and cheapest way to get a 2TB HDD that fits in PS4 I believe.

I bought a Toshiba Slim II 1TB last week which is definitely aluminium & on both sides which helps keep it cool & avoids the plastic casing whilst dishing out a small form factor. Plus its made in the Philippines instead of China
Mostly correct. I also have a Toshiba slim II 1TB and although nicely build using mostly aluminium with some plastic, it's not that thin, actually similar +-13mm to the Seagate 2TB Backup Plus Slim. There is more plastic on those, with only the top in a thin aluminium. Made in the Philippines over China is nothing worthy to note.
