Firstly,
I'm wondering if there is any difference in buying a phone from the Apple store or for example Dick Smith in terms of future support/warranty issues etc…
Secondly,
Where is the best place to get an iPhone 6 16GB? And any methods to make it cheaper like claiming GST back etc… Also, at the moment I'm on a TPG plan (something like 20-25 dollars a month purely for the plan like $300 calls? and 1GB net?) I've done minor calculations and found that on my current plan, buying a phone outright is cheaper than getting a plan at like $70 a month over 2 years. Any cheaper plans I might have missed out on and should consider?
Thanks a lot !
Best place to buy an iPhone 6 16gb outright is Officeworks. It's $858 for the Space Grey model which is the most popular colour. The other colours are out of stock.
Plans to consider are the Virgin $30 Plan which comes to $55 per month for the iPhone 6 16gb in Silver. The other colours are out of stock currently.
Minimum cost for the plan is $1320 over 24 months which is about $19.25 per month after taking out the phone (($1320-$858)/24)
Your best bet would be to go on plan as its a pretty low monthly fee after the phone repayment and includes 2gb of data.
I would also consider the 64gb model priced at $999 as it has a lot more storage and is the future proofed phone. 16gb isn't much data anymore and if you intend to keep the phone over a longer period of time, I suggest paying a bit more and getting the higher storage.
Just my two cents, either way it's a great phone and shop around too!
