Stanley Socket Set - 40 Piece, 1/2" Drive, Metric & Imperial $64.99 @ SCA (Save $65)

170

The best price for this set. It's part of the SCA catalogue but think it worths mention on its own as this set includes larger sockets > 23mm or 15/16" (Good for people who already own sockets sets that exclude large sizes. The included 11 large sockets alone - which are shown in bold below (if bought individually) worth more than the deal price, all the rest of the stuff comes basically free.

============

With everything you need to get going, this Stanley 40 piece socket set is awesome value. Kept safe in a bright, yellow metal case, this Stanley kit comes complete with a t-bar, ratchet and extensions, all in 1/2ā€ drive. The set also offers a huge range of sockets in both Imperial and Metric standards, in much larger sizes than are commonly found in basic kits. Along with all of the above, the yellow case also contains a 13/16ā€ spark plug socket and an appropriate universal joint.

The set includes both Metric & Imperial:

1/2" drive metric sockets: 10 - 19, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 30, 32mm
1/2" AF sock: 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16, 3/4, 13/16, 7/8, 15/16, 1, 1/16, 1-1/8,1-3/16, 1-1/4

You mean I have to PAY for this socket set?

    • Lol, the difference in quality though - I've had several cheap socket sets before getting this one a couple years back.

  • nice deal. thanks!

  • When was the last time you used non metric sockets ?

Can we please have an all metric socket set?!

This morning. Many non EU/AU cars more than 10 years old use imperial..

Just takes the one time you actually need them to really ruin your day ;) Might as well have both on hand

    • Yep… you gotta have both!

  • Stanley is crap quality tbh, it is the only brand that I have seen a fork on a spanner breaking and cracking in socket walls.

Good enough for people who will use them maybe once or twice a week.

    • Which brand which you recommend, SCA perhaps?

      • Agree on stanley not being the best brands out there ATM. The question here perhaps is - can you find good name brand sockets for this price? Stanley is perhaps better than totally unbranded no name tools.

      • imo Repco is the best bang for buck with lifetime warranty and they often have 50% off sales.

I'm a fitter currently building trains for the Adelaide rail project and have been using my Stanley socket and spanner kit for years with no problems. I regularly use the 19mm socket with a 1/2 Chicago pneumatic rattle gun to do up the 12mm high tensile bolts that hold all the underframe equipment in place, and it has hardly rounded/mushroomed the 1/2 drive. I'd happily buy the same set again should it be stolen from me.

Like all tools, there's good batches and bad batches. For this socket set, at this price point, it's a steal.

      • That's a good enough recommendation for me!

I've got Stanley sockets handed down from my dad that are over 30 years old (with newer ones that I've bought along the way) and all still going strong. I doubt the manufacture quality is what it was when Stanley was king years ago, but I'd still happily buy them again as well.

The rachet mech on the stanley seems much smoother and more robust than cheaper versions.

  • wow them got some big ass sockets in that set!

  • Not a bad deal for me, not a heavy user and still has a lifetime guarantee. I used to work at supercheap and they honor the warranty (with receipt of course)

    Thanks op, ordered one!
