COTD - Aussie Bodies Chocolate Protein Bars $49.95 (12 Per Box)

20

A whopping 45 gms of protein in each bar and the ONLY flavour in the range that dosent include the cheap filler soy protein isolate.

There is valid research to suggest that consumption of soy protein products may not be beneficial to men wishing to have an optimal testosterone production which is why I make a point of staying clear of most other protein bars.

Most bars are struggling to provide 30 gms of quality protein so these are a better value for money option in my opinion.

Recently purchased two (2) boxes for myself from COTD during the free delivery promotion and used the 'BDAY' code to score an additional $8 discount which made the purchase worthy. Current pricing is reasonable but for those who know the product will also know that places like Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse often sell them discounted from $5 to $3 per bar.

Great for travelling or that (non) cheat meal between meals that will keep you from blowing money on junk food. Highly recommend that they are eaten chilled as the flavour is potent yet tasty for what they are.

Feel free to click on the referral link below which will reward $10 credit to your account after the first purchase.

Not a big fan of the ingredients, especially the maltitol. I would suggest people try these before buying a box and have a look at quest bars.

      Quest bars FTW!

    • Quest bars are good! I had my first taste test recently and they too (from what I can tell) are free of soy protein.

My point really is value for money as these have more than double the protein of Quest though I believe when ordered from overseas Quest can be quite cost effective if bought by the box.

A lot of work went into this post - appreciate your contribution OP. That said, people just eat real food. If you want to get more protein chicken, eggs and peanut butter (mmm pea-nut but-t-er… sorry I got distracted) are your friends.

    • And when it comes to value for money, this is $50 per kilo of chocolate (inc postage).

As a health food item, this might be considered good value for money. But people really should be questioning the cost and benefits of such products.

I don't think anyone is going to eat a protein bar for dinner as a replacement for chicken etc. More like a convenient inbetween meal as a snack. You can have both.

Cheers for your positive comment and I too agree that real food is where its at, especially if your trying to gain size in the way of muscle.

Still these kind of bars (as do the pre-made drinks) have their place in convenience and can kill the hunger bug when your other options are limited such as fast food, possibly saving you a few bucks for tastier and healthier home-made food!

Definitely a better alternative than fast food.

A roast chicken from colesworth/Red rooster/chicken treat would be better

  • On COTD it says in the ingredients the bars contain 81% protein powder blend… but {here}(http://www.chemistdirect.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/1724…) what appears to be the same product has the ingredients listing as only 48% protein power blend.

    Any thoughts?

    • Not sure where you're seeing the 81% figure - these are definitely 48%.

      • Check the ingredients in the picture…

  • Please refer to the following link which states that the bar being 100gms in total weight is approximately 42% protein blend which would relate to the 45gms of protein per serve.

These are great to have a backup in ur bag.

Quest bars might be great but macros suck big time.

This not only taste great its half protien. Chock is awsome. Caramel good too. Wish they had many more flavours!!

  • These are currently half price at WOOLIES, in the catalogue, making them $2.59 per bar, versus about $4.10 per bar at COTD.
