Is there some kind of software that I can install on three computers at home so I can tell how much data downloaded by each of them? They are all running Windows 7. TIA.
Tracking Internet Usage on Home Computers

I use Networx by Softperfect on all 3 of my home PC's. Works great. They also have LAN filtering which makes it possible to differentiate between LAN file transfer and actual internet usage. Only works on Windows.
Thanks scrimshaw. It works great.
@scrimshaw: Is it any good? - https://www.softperfect.com/products/ramdisk/
I have 8GB Ram in my PC, wanna test it.
Ooooh been looking for something like this. I hav 20GB RAM in my PC and could easily space a few GB for a scratch disk.
How does it work mate? I want to use it too.
It creates a "virtual drive" that uses your allocated chuck of ram as a temporary disk.
When you restart/showdown your PC, all data on that disk is gone. So only useful for temp files.
@Spectator: Hmm, do you think it can give SSD like performance on a PC with hard disk? Of course for scratching tasks only.
Anything for Mac?
We play the blame game every month!!BitMeter is the next best thing to Networx. It's compatible with Linux and OSX.

If you want a hardware option, you can purchase a Netgear WNDR3800 router for around $80, and install Gargoyle firmware onto it which has some awesome monitoring/bandwidth limiting features.
Yeah I did this. Great if you want to not only monitor but also restrict usage, either slowing them down or cutting them off entirely.

A few options here for you.
