I am travelling to US in april next yr, will there be more deals for then?

    • +1

      Hi Heizenberg

Keep an eye out closer to that date. We will always endeavour to be the cheapest and provide the best deals for Australian travellers!

      • Same, travelling end of March 2015, something closer to the date would hit the spot nicely.

        • Hi SaberX

Keep an eye out closer to that date :)

    how is this 50% off? 50% of $80 is $40 not $55..

    http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/individual.html

    • The same USA pack would cost you $100USD (approx $115AUD) if purchased from a T-Mobile store in USA

    • AUD vs USD

    • Hidden costs are the SIM itself and the phone plan. These retailers never tell you until you sign up. Advertised as the $80 plan but as the oP said works out to be approximately 50% off.

    • Hi accessdenied

      The same pack in USA is $100USD as you would pay;
      1) $80 USD for the plan
      2) $10 USD for the International feature which allows you to call back to International landlines
      3) $10 USD for the sim card.

If you convert that to AUD the same pack would cost your $115 in the USA

      Hopefully that clears the misunderstanding.

  • Hi Rep, do you have any cheaper 3G sim card package? I checked T-Mobile's network and they're using 1700Mhz band for their 4G network. My iPhone 5 A1429 and Samsung Galaxy i9506 use 1800 and 1900 Mhz for 4G. connection. That means I can only use 3G and won't be getting 4G speed when using my mobiles on their network.

It's like buying a Ferrari and drive it on Australian's freeways where you're gonna be stuck behind a Falcodore on gas doing 99 km/h, hogging the right lane. TLDR ; what's the point? Cheers!

    • Hi Gorodemon,

T-Mobile over the last 2 years have refarmed alot of their 2G to 4G on the 1900Mhz band in most major cities.

As stated above USA's definition of 4G is different to everyone else in the world. The 1900Mhz band will get you HSPA+ speeds (3.5G).

      Hope the above helps.

  • Purchased with express post. Just in time for my trip! Thanks

    • Hi Brendun

That's great to hear - we will be dispatching it this morning - so you should get it by Monday morning :)

    Hi guys,

Wondering what size the sim is as I can't see an option to select micro/nano etc. I have a galaxy s5.

    Thanks!

    • You select the SIM size when you go to check out.

      • yes, you can select sim size before you add to cart

    • Hi rbenko123

We have all the size sim cards in stock. When you go to our website, and as you are about to make the purchase, there is a drop down box requesting which size sim card you wish to obtain (in your case the micro size sim card).

      • Thanks all!

I was having a blind moment on the bus and couldnt see the drop down…

I can see it now thanks! Will order one asap.

  • Done, just purchased.. pretty good deal

    • Hi gaurangmp

That's great to hear - so you should get it by early next week :)

  • Good timing, I'm travelling to the States on 27 Feb :)

    • Did you get on a cheap airNZ?i bought a sim last promotion, i think this rep is going to get some pretty good business from airNZ stuffing up :P

      • I got a cheap AirNZ flt for 23 dec departure to LA .. but had to pay $200 extra for additional check in bags.. but still cheaper than Qantas/Virgin..

      • Unfortunately no, my partner is going to LA for work so going to fly qantas. More expensive flight but save on accommodation.

  • ohhh come on - i just bought 2 of these full price on monday :(

    • Hi tangy

      Please check your inbox :)

  • What happens after a month? Can I still recharge? What's the minimum I need to recharge to get the same usage package? I would be there for two months.

    • Hi LsYu

Yes you can recharge/refill the sim card for another month. You do not need to recharge the same package in the second month, if you wish you can downgrade your plan and go on one of the lower priced plans.

Sim cards can be easily refilled via the T-Mobile website, or at a T-Mobile store, or via calling T-Mobile Customer service.

  • Very good deal. About to purchase one online from you for my trip on Feb 6 to LA (Air NZ deal) but can you please confirm if it will work with an Australian HTC One (M7) or on the latest iPhone6 mobile? IF it's not 4G compatible, I'm happy to use the 3G features on it (if that works as well).

    • Hi Cheapies,

It will work on the HTC One and iPhone 6 model.

You will be able to get T-Mobile's 4G speed on both (please note USA have 4G and then 4GLTE which is even faster).

The iPhone 6 should work better as it has many more frequencies/bands so you might even be able to access 4G LTE instead of just 4G. As stated above USA's definition of 4G is different to the rest of the world. Their 4G = HSPA+ speeds (approx 3.5G).

  • Just purchased. looking forward to recieving the sim!

    • Hi rbenko

That's great to hear - we will be dispatching it this morning - so you should get it by early next week.

  • need some sim cards for our trip next Feb, but the two phones we have are the Nexus5(D821 version) and OnePlus One (chinese version) so it seems t-mobile would be a pretty poor choice..

Your 'GoRedPocket' sims use the At&t network which would be better.. is there anything stopping those sims working in phones if we only want data access?

    • Why would t-mobile be a poor choice for the Nexus5?

Also when you recharge after 30 days, are you getting the same deal?

      • Hi 89tnp,

No, you definitely won't be getting the same deal. When recharging you have to go directly through T-Mobile either online, at their store or call them over the phone to recharge. They will then charge their prices which will be in USA and in Full price.

If you are going for well over 30 days then take advantage of the deal and grab 2 and just provide different arrival date for the second sim based on when you would like it activated.

Remember, if you got this sim in the USA it will cost you approx $115AUD so realistically you would be getting 2 for the price of one.

    • Hi SBOB,

If you are mainly traveling to major cities then the Nexus5 (D821 version) has the 1900mhz band on HSDPA which will get you access to T-Mobiles 4G speeds which as described above will be HSPA+ speeds. This goes the same with your OnePlusOne.

If you had the international version of the OnePlus One you probably would have got access to T-Mobile's LTE speeds.

Unfortunately, the RedPocket sims we stock won't work in phones. I recommend getting a sim for either of your phones if you are going to major cities. If you are traveling to mainly rural areas then you may need to look at picking up an AT&T sim when you are there in the USA.

      • SimCorner

I am travelling to San Francisco, down to Los Angeles and also Anaheim

Are you aware whether these all fall under the '1900MHz' spectrum?
Im not to fussed on the speed of the data, as long as its quick enough for navigation/maps and apps like tripadvisor and urbanspoon then ill be happy ;)

        • Within the actual cities or towns themselves SanFran, L.A. and Anaheim you will be fine.

If you are driving to get to each one of the places then outside the cities the coverage will be more limited on the long stretch highways that run through non populated areas.

          Hope the above helps.

        • @SimCorner:

          Thanks
any upcoming deals on the $70 card? ;)

  • Ordered one this time. Thanks SimCorner.

    • Hi csg001

That's great to hear - we will be dispatching it this morning - so you should get it by early next week.

  • Thanks guys. I've just ordered with you for my next trip, my existing T-mobile SIM and has expired since I last travelled.

I used T-mobile on a different plan last year (no free calls on that plan) and it was fantastic service across deserts and mountains and beyond (internet and texts mainly)

  • Just ordered but dont have the two IMEI numbers currently (one phone isnt home yet)
I assume if I send them through to you shortly it wont be an issue?
    Order #100001657

    • Hi SBOB,

That's fine, you can just e-mail us at [email protected] once you have the IMEI numbers.

      • +1

sent them through as a reply to the order email I received.

  • Hi, I purchased three of these. Any problem with activating each one at the start of each months for three months starting in December? Better deal for me as I don't really need a stable number

    • Hi rubenastley,

      This won't be a problem.

Please e-mail us at [email protected] advising that you would like all 3 sims activated on different dates and the exact dates you would like to have them activated.

  • Is this valid if im travelling to Hawaii in Feb/March?

    • Hi GLO,

Yes, this is definitely still valid.

      • thanks!

Can you please advise if these sims also support the Push to Talk feature? *we are using HTC One M8 handsets

  • I've had a look online as I'm not too familiar with the Push to Talk feature. However, i think the exact feature you are referring to is meant to have carrier support but I don't think T-Mobile currently supports this.

  • Thanks, how long is this running for?

    • This deal was going to expire tomorrow, however we have extended it till Friday night.

      • The code isn't working for me at the moment?

        • poyme4,

          Can you please try again.

We just had someone double check it, tested it and confirmed that it's working.

  • Hi Tom

My sim arrived today. Thank you very much!

    Just a question:
Is the sim card tied to the specific phone for which I provided the IMEI?

    • Hi Brian88

No it is not. You can place the sim card in any phone (as long as it takes the same sized sim card)

  • Three sims arrived today - fast service (ordered Sunday evening).

How do I find out our phone numbers before we leave to give to our staff, family?

    • Hi Coriander

We may be able to provide to provide you your phone numbers early if you are going for less then 30 days. If you can contact us on [email protected], noting your Order Number, we can assist you with this query.

      • Thanks…. we're not going till 5 Jan, and my son is contemplating a new phone, so we still need to send you IMEIs. I'll contact you in the next couple of weeks.

  • +1

Thanks guys, I got mine in the mail within 2 business days.

SIM Arrived today. Thanks guys. hopefully it works when i get over there! (Dec 6) :)

  • Hi SimCorner, I want to buy this sim, however I will be receiving a new phone in a few weeks. Can I still purchase it?
(New phone will obviously have a new IMEI that's why I am wondering)

    • Hi Justcallmeboss,

Yes, you can still purchase it now. Just e-mail us at [email protected] once you have the new IMEI.

      • Damn, guess I checked your comment too late :(
I will be waiting for your next deal, and will definitely buy it! Thanks SimCorner :)

  • Hi Simcorner,

How about a new ozbargain deal, travelling to USA in two weeks, any chance of a deal I can use before I go?

    • Hi Supertramp,

We just had 2 deals run simultaneously for an extended period of time.

Sorry, but we are not sure when next deal would be or if it will be for USA sim cards. Please still keep a look out over the next week.
