  • Do they transfer much flavour?

Unsure at this stage, I'm going to be cooking chicken skewers tonight, so can report back.

Anyway, this is what the packet says:

"Nothing happens until the meat hits the heat. Use 1 skewer per 350g meat. With roasts or large portions of meat keep skewer within 1cm of the surface to allow for good flavour activation"

"Ingredients - Vegetable oil, natural flavours (essential oils and extracts)"

  • Also down the back at Chelsea (VIC) Woolies for a similar price. Skeptical as to how much you would notice unless you left the meat on them for a while for the chemicals to leach out ;)

They had them at Beechboro (WA). I wouldn't (didn't) even pay 40c for them.

  • Seems to be nationwide. Must be trying to get rid of them.

I was skeptical and bought some a while ago, don't even bother. Hardly gives much flavour.

  • out of date ….

  • Fantastic idea if it works.

  • Well…I'm from Wiltshire, England, and I've never heard of Wiltshire Chilli!

We have stuff like wiltshire ham, and cider. West country stuff.

I'm from Australia, and Wiltshire is a popular bbq brand here.
It's not Wiltshire Chilli persay, its Wiltshire bbq skewers (which have been sold for a long time) that are now available in chilli.

  • even at 5c a skewer, not as good as the half price Nando's deals.

  • Well, I had them tonight. They were pretty decent. Not too much flavour as such, but they certainly added a heap of spice to the meat. Can recommend, especially for 40c.

  • How long are they?
I'm after 50cm long and preferably with no essence

    • Probably around 25-30cm.
