Im based in Vic (comparison is difficult) but I was also 'renewing' my plan with them a few days ago. The best they could do was 19% off electricity and 11% off gas on a similar plan. When I said I was shopping around for better deals (ie. I still think dodo is the cheapest by comparison for consumption charges and discounts) they could suddenly do 29% off electricity and 17% off gas. I know Im still not getting the best bargain but are quite attached to their wireless smart box energy meter so thought Id say with them.

As always with electricity and gas prices always check and compare both the kWh rate as well as the % off, 11% off with x company may still cost more than 5% off with y company.
What is this rubbish… They've had this plan for years… And it was definitely 15% off earlier this year as mentioned by jv… Not a bargain.

Apply to transfer to another provider & you'll most likely get a call from Origin offering a bigger discount to stay. They called me today but I still switched.

No deal, dodo is 15% off standard and comes with the same added bad service.
Everyone please use the website http://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au to decide or not to change using your last electricity bill usage. Not all retailers charge the same kWh unit price.
Also diff retailers has diff conditions. Make sure you read the conditions before signing up on any as some has diff connection/disconnection fees (ie. moving house) etc.
I'm in regional Victoria and have been doing a number of comparisons between providers. I found Red Energy to be the best (or just a fraction behind Dodo maybe, but I won't touch them).
Used to be with Click until they jacked their prices.
Even though Red's discount seems smaller, it is worth noting that their discount applies to both usage and daily service charge (some of them only apply discount to usage). I'm not sure how they compare for NSW though.
