Huawei g300+ and Amaysim = issues?

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone else has the above phone/telco combination.

My Mum has this phone, and she's having big issues with connectivity problems using this combo. Mostly with data, but there have been a couple of times that she hasn't been able to call out, text, ANYTHING for a whole day. Too bad if she had an emergency…she doesn't have a home phone.

Amaysim doesn't seem to shed much light on the issue, which makes me believe it could be a phone issue. The phone is 3G?

Anyone else know what could be going on? It just decides to cut out by itself often and for no apparent reason.

She does not live in a no-service area, and my phone (Huawei g526) is with Woolworths Sim (also Optus) and has no issues.

    Maybe try the SIM in another phone even a basic one and look at the signal strength? If OK then suspect bad phone.

      I managed to dig out an old smartphone with the same size sim card as the g300+ and gave it a shot.

      Even though the 3 year old smartphone has slower specs than the g300+, the connection speed runs rings around it.

      I think we have the culprit. The phone is the issue.

    Sim contacts in the phone ok and firm?? Seen that happen a few times.
    Got 2 g526's on Amaysim and it is perfect.

    Otherwise try….

      No, the issue is with a g300+
      The g526 is fine.
