The amount of headache it has caused me is enough for perma-ban in my books.
I thought that the 7200.12 drives has all the earlier problems fixed?

\_/7No, the problems were fixed during the .11 line. People just don't like the company now.
Considering people still have a grudge against Deskstar HDDs, and they haven't had a problem for 8 years and are made by a different company now, it's not particularly surprising people can't get their head around the whole different model thing…
well do you blame people? It was a pretty shocking screw up on their part.
Saves about $10 before shipping it would appear
