  • Saves about $10 before shipping it would appear

  • Good stuff. Ordered one.

  • Shipping:

    SA Metro (0-1 days, less than 15kg) $10.00 AUD$10.00
    SA Country (1-2 days, less than 15kg) $18.00 AUD$18.00
    Melbourne (1-2 days, less than 5kg) $18.00 AUD$18.00
    ACT/Sydney (2-3 days, less than 5kg) $30.00 AUD$30.00
    NT/WA (3-4 days, less than 15kg) $80.00 AUD$88.00

Looks like it's only a good price pick-up. Especially in NT and WA!

Maybe Melbourne, but other places do the same price including shipping there (e.g. Megaware).

  • could probably get better deals from local shops. everything from that site seems overpriced

  • +1

Sorry, but those shipping charges are just ridiculous and a deal-breaker.

Edit - Voting neutral now, on the basis that it is a good deal for in-store shoppers but lousy for mail-order.

    • Yeah agreed.

$18.00 to Melbourne, $30 to Sydney? .. what are they on.

  • +1

Too dear, and besides its a Seagate.

    Seagate = fail.

The amount of headache it has caused me is enough for perma-ban in my books.

  • I thought that the 7200.12 drives has all the earlier problems fixed?
Is that not correct / are there issues with these current drives also??

No, the problems were fixed during the .11 line. People just don't like the company now.

Considering people still have a grudge against Deskstar HDDs, and they haven't had a problem for 8 years and are made by a different company now, it's not particularly surprising people can't get their head around the whole different model thing…

well do you blame people? It was a pretty shocking screw up on their part.
