New to Amazon, Think I Found a Good Deal but Not Sure? GTX 970 OC

Hi All

Just wanting some advice as I am looking for a bargain on an overclocked 970, and found this :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NH5T1UA/ref=ox_sc_act_ti…

Its temporarily out of stock, but I can order and they will notify me when available, its $367 AUD shipped to sydney apparently, seems really cheap !!! But what kind of time frame would I be looking at do you think?

Or is it better to wait for actual Black Friday sale (only learnt about this sale today) as it says there is 20% or more of Nvidia cards with the black friday sale ?

Confused, but if its genuine at that price I want to jump on it !!

Any help would be much appreciated,

Kind Regards,

Slippy

But what kind of time frame would I be looking at do you think?

7-9 days itself for delivery. Not sure when it comes back in stock.

But it's a pretty good deal if you can get it for under $400.

usd $349 —> aud $401.5 according to google currency calculator.

Add shipping to it, it's around the same price as Aus stock i think.

    -Edit-

$469 at MSY according to staticice. I reckon you'd save maybe $30 or so… best to just buy from MSY if you can't wait for a deal.

    -Edit 2-

I just saw you have a price including delivery, and I'm pretty sure that price is usd and not aud.

usd $367 —> aud $422.14 using the same google currency calculator. so you save about aud $40

  • Cheers for the replies guys, I think im confused I thought that #367 was AUD

  • $349 USD was the recommended retail for a GTX 970

I bought the ASUS STRIX for $349 + 16.95 shipping, which is now selling on Amazon for $424.95 (and no longer ships to Australia)

If you're going to buy overseas. you should get EVGA as it has international warranty. If any other brand you would have no way of fixing the card. I bought a card (EVGA SC 970 2.0) when the dollar was at 90 cents, so it was around $370 including delivery.

    • Hi Vmeisterkun

I am intersted in the EVGA one, I found this for $393 USD http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Superclocked-Graphics-04G…

When you say $370, is that AUD or USD? So confusing lol.

I am so keen to get this card, but I will be so upset if I dont get it at a bargain price so its about patience I guess lol

If you are looking to purchase from US… try Newegg, they now ship to Aus and show their prices in AUD so less confusion.

    Newegg

    $379.19+shipping

It's EVGA so should have international warranty. Still cheaper compared to local stock. Not by much though… Good news is that apparently i can get it express shipped for $67.08 (to NSW)

Also, don't bother getting factory OC editions… it's easy to OC it yourself.

    • Amazon can ship it quite cheap, like around $10 USD. Newegg shipping seems expensive in comparison

      • I always thought Amazon doesn't ship PC parts, or at least not all anyway.

  • ok cool. main reason i was looking at factory OC was some video i watched saying that the 970 is faster than 980 for much cheaper price with the factory OC, but if i can just do myself then that will be even cheaper, the standard gigabyte one hopefully I can find cheaply

Yeah, the video maker probably matched a factory OC 970 to a stock 980… it will definitely be faster… the comparison is seriously wrong, but i do agree that 970 is definitely the to go like the 670…

      Key points to note are

      • Same bus width meaning they will mostly likely only use up to 3.3GB of the 4GB vram
      • Same architecture with a cluster difference.
      • Almost half the price of a 980… 970 @ $429 and 980 @ $699. 60% increase in price from the 970 for maybe 10% increase in performance…

      Seriously Nvidia…

Prices from PCCG and using cheapest models

OP you can also check the GTX 970 stock (in US) on this page: http://www.nowinstock.net/computers/videocards/nvidia/gtx970…

Gigabyte G1 Gaming, MSI Gaming, EVGA FTW or Asus Strix are the best out there. I recently switched to GB 970 g1 gaming and so happy with it. Clockspeed out of the box hits 1405 mhz constant boost, on 50% fan and 66 max temp.

Currently I see the MSI GTX 970 Gaming available on newegg (with express 2-3 business days delivery) for USD 408 or ~AUD 468. Cheapest on staticice is AUD 518.
