Hi, I'm looking at possibly the Surface Pro 2 or similar now that the Surface 3 is out. I was looking at getting the ASUS T100 a few months back but I'd say theres going to be a new model coming out for that.
I'm looking to use it for basic stuff like internet and some light gaming and movies. I mainly use an old galaxy tab for everyhing now but sometimes it would just be handy to have a full pc with windows etc.
Looking to spend $500-$600ish if possible

You are correct. I wasn't aware the type cover was a keyboard…oops
That's a no brainer, if you want a high end Windows tablet that runs a proper notebook processor and is able to handle light gaming, there's only the Surface Pro 2 and 3. The Harvey Normal offering includes the type cover, and the type cover itself is worth a hundred.
No other tablet on the Aussie market has Haswell-gen processor for such a low price. Most other offerings usually pack Bay Trail Atoms.
I own a Surface Pro and cannot recommend it highly enough, particularly given it meets all your requirements. Get the Type Cover too, not the Touch Cover. Well worth the extra few dollars it costs.
If you're willing to spend a bit more, I recommend the ThinkPad Yoga. I bought one over the Surface Pro 3 for $1100; it's phenomenal.

how about hp pavillion x2 10" or lenovo yoga 2 tablet window with keyboard…upside:long battery life and resonable price. downside: they are intel atom
