I recently heard a little about aquaponics and have been doing some research. It seems pretty low maintenance and high payoff if you love fish!

It can be a bit of a drama to set one up. It can also be difficult to get hold of the fingerlings you want. The system I helped set up was in the outback, so keeping the water at the optimum temp was also an issue.
The guy I helped build it with was also a knob.
My father in law invested in this, he is an avid gardener, grows a lot of his own vegies, the fish kept dying, last I heard he was trying barramundi, As he is a knob, I only talk to him when necessary.
