Postman Access to My Letterbox?

Hi all,

I have never had this happen to me before until last week. I opened my mailbox to find a large parcel inside which took up the entire volume of the mailbox. The surprise was in the fact that the parcel is significantly larger than the opening which is only enough room for only a few letters at best.

I was wondering if anyone knew whether postmen are allowed to have access to individuals letterboxes via maybe some master key? I live in a block of units and the lock is part of the mailbox (not the type where I could substitute it for my own padlock or anything).

Not that there is a problem or anything, just curious. I like having items in my mailbox as opposed to a stack of pickup letters for the postoffice which has horrible opening hours.

Thank you :)

it is not ur postman but probably ur conceirge or building manager who put in that to prevent loss as mosty postmen just leave items there

    • Well it's the second time in 2 weeks but I know the Strata manager won't do it and we don't have concierge.

shaved key dude. Mailbox locks are so so crap he could have probably even used a serrated blade to open it.
