Just bought a lens from a camera store today, finally got home and opened the box and its empty. WTF?
Am i going to have issues getting the Lens? I'm guessing the serial number would match a lens they have on a camera on display? Unless one of their staff stole it?

Unless it was a canon 50mm 1.8…
It was stupid, should have checked first but was in a hurry.
However, the lens was and 18mm prime ~100gm, so box weight wouldnt have been that much different
So, anyway what do i do? I'm hoping it will just be on the shelf or something stupid like that but if they kick up a fuss what are my options?
Please tell us what the shop said when you phoned them / went straight back when you noticed the box was empty…
Going back tomorrow. Only opened the box when I got home after being out all day and they were closed by that time.
I've brought home dvd sets for tv shows to find them empty. Went back to the store no problems. Hopefully it's the store employees who remove products from the boxes from time to time & they're aware it's possible. Goodluck! I don't think you'll have a huge problem?
Had the same when I picked up a game from jbhifi, age of Conan, was in a box set. They seem ok with it and gave me the game. Should be ok, good luck
All good. Lens was on display. So got a new sealed box.
Bit of a pain to go back to the store again but at least its done
Sorry to ask the obvious, but how did you not notice there was no lens in the box when you purchased it in store?
A box is very light by itself and from my experience, lens are quite heavy.
