For the Derby razor, what refills do I have to purchase?
Also, can you recommend and aftershave?

RyanMK The Derby safety razor takes standard double edged safety razor blades, not cartridges, aftershave is a very personal thing, I like Proraso. There is also a cheap Chinese safety razor called the ReMei, Rimei, Silvertone or Sodial (it is the same razor) available from Amazon for under $6. The Rimei is actually a good 3 piece safety razor. Some merchants have been substituting other razors for the Rimei. The original Sodial or Rimei has received high praise from Michael Ham, Mantic59 and the founder of Reddit's Wicked Edge.
Michael Ham is Leisureguy and he rates the Sodial or Rimei above the Lord Number 6. It is a Chinese version of the Gillette Tech 3 piece razor. I bought a couple of these in 2013 that came in bubble packs from Hong Kong, I ordered through amazon.com for delivery via myus.com parcel forwarding service. The perceived quality control issues are due to merchants substituting inferior razors, but this has occurred since my purchase. It is because of this that my previous post only mentioned the Derby or Ming shi. I actually have bought a lot of stuff from amazon, and myus.com consolidates the packages into one parcel for me.

I actually enjoy shaving now, no more cuts, bumps or redness. And its so much cheaper, I can replace a blade every three to four days, and it'll only cost me $21 for a WHOLE year! Rather than the $15/month it used to cost.

The Turkish horsehair shaving brushes are fantastic value for money.
The horse smell disappears quickly, you can hurry that along with an animal shampoo.
The feeling is between boar and badger, and the horsehair is great for face lathering.
Also they are suitable for Muslims (bristles are non boar) or ethical vegetarians as the horse is not harmed.
The Derby razor is good value for money also. Bestshave also has a shavette style straight razor that uses half a de razor blade for $3.75. Delivery from Turkey can be slow, but you do receive your goods.
