Just a quick question if someone can confirm that I understand this correctly. When I activated a $30 starter pack on data-only plan, I got included credit of $30 and 2GB. Am I right to say that I can immediately transfer $30 to my other SIM using creditme2u or calling telstra dan that won't affect my 2GB of data? Thank you.

Thanks for your response BanSlavery. By saying that we won't get the full $30, did you refer to the transfer fee of $0.25?
So according this data rate http://www.telstra.com.au/broadband/mobile-broadband/prepaid… if I make transfer to another pre-paid mobile broadband, I will get at least another 1GB from this transfer? Is that correct? Cheers,
Lots of info here - www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/telstra_pre-paid_starter_pack_guid…
Hi SchnishSchnack, yes I read that guide. But in the guide there id no specific case of using two prepaid broadband and transfer credit between the two to get more data. I guess the principle is the same I just want to confirm. Cheers.
It's not possible to use CreditMe2U with a data only plan but I think they'll move credit for you if you ring up and ask nicely.
I have done CreditMe2U to a data only plan and it worked. But from information I gathered through live chat with Telstra rep, I was told that there is no bonus data given as a result of CreditMe2U or any assisted credit transfer. So for example if I transfered $15 to a data only plan, I will not get 1GB bonus data.
Actually I would like to hear feedback from others about this. Because this effectively makes credit transfer (assisted or CreditMe2U) quite different to normal recharge.
Creditme2u is not a standard recharge method and you will not get bonuses from it.
You can use that credit to buy text/data packs etc
@BanSlavery, how do I buy data pack with the credit?
Um smart phone?
Telstra 24/7app@BanSlavery: Just found out that data pack is available for post-paid plan only. So I can't use this to utilise my credit.
No… It's on prepaid as well.
It's called a "plus pack" but you can get data, calls, texts, mms
Data one is called browse plus
$5=30mb
$10=200mb
$20=700mbOptus data packs are much better tbh… $5 =500mb but charged in MB and 28 days
@BanSlavery: Ahh … thanks.
Sorry to bring up old discussion but I thought rather than create a new post.
I just activated a white Telstra starter kit for iPad and I got 3GB. I thought I can use the $30 credit to buy something on Google Play Store, but I got a message that I don't have enough balance. Can we not use the $30 credit on this plan (iPad)? Can anyone confirm? Thank you.
When you activated as ipad plan, you only get 3gb, not a cent of credit. Simple as
Oh ok. Another fact about Telstra pre-paid that I just learnt :) Thanks Igacb08.
$30 which can be transfered via creditme2u although you won't get the full $30
You keep the data and the funny money.
