I've been using the Lebara National Plan for a while now and had it set up for auto-renew using my credit card. However, recharge vouchers were recently 15% off so I grabbed a bunch. I disabled auto-renew for my credit card, and put enough money in to my "main balance" that it would cover the renewal when it came due.
BUT
Instead of renewing the "national plan" using my national balance, I got switched on to pay-as-you-go, and my $33 of main balance was gone in about 5 days. Only when it was gone and I could no longer send SMS did I realise what had happened. $30 would normally cover a month of usage, in this case it lasted only about 5 days.
I feel like I got screwed here because I expected my plan to renew using the main balance. I did get SMS reminders from Lebara but nothing explaining that my plan had stopped and that my main balance was being used.
What do you think? Where do I stand?
