if I remember correctly (from what the some guy who works at Costco told me)
the place a hold of the pre paid amount
then charge u for the actual amount (only up to the pre paid amount, the pump will cut out)
u get the hold returned in 3-7 days (sometimes faster)
which means if you run a tight credit card limit its an issue, if you don't, it doesn't matterI told the "trainer" who stepped me through the process that I wanted to fill up and he said they were aware it was an issue but at this time it couldn't be done, which I accepted at the time, but after thinking about it a bit, thought it was strange…
The way I understand it you are only charged $90.55 but your credit limit would be marginally reduced for a few days.
yep of the pre paid amount of 100 bucks
Can someone enlighten me what's the benefits of filling up there instead of the other usual names?
$$$
they are usually a bit cheaper, they only have e10 and 98 though
Costco are in the process of building a "gasoline" station in Canberra, but if they're also only going to have e10 and 98…… pass.
Didn't realise that it was E10…
So it could well be better to fill at the Shell right next door who (so far) are matching price..I was told it is not E10.
I recall it saying Unleaded 91…
(ie not E10)
But I'm happy to be corrected.@scubacoles:
might have been that, didn't check as I usually fill 95 (which they didn't have so filled 98)
Their only station so far in Adelaide is too far away from me, but I'd be inclined to boycott them just because they call it "gasoline" :)
What do they sell at this "gas" station? Brownies, cookies, pop and "sweets"? Agree, the CEO must have a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock to use that company name.
I won't put gasoline in my car, it runs on PETROL.
I tried some of that 'ol mogas motor spirits but them folks in these parts dawnt take too kindly to eet 'round ere.
Fully self serve, pay before you pump..
Does anyone know if your tank fills before you reach the pre-approved $ limit what happens?
ie approve $100, fill to $90.55, do you get charged $100 or $90.55?
