      A Mclaren P1 has a 3.8L V8. Is it slower than an SS commodore with a 6.0 V8?

My $200 budget ASUS tab also has 2GB RAM too… not much to celebrate about.

Yay, 2GB ram for iPad, what a revolution and this will ensure all task are butterly smooth and it is the best iPad money can buy.

This is more significant news than many might realise.

This is the first iOS device with 2GB of memory, and the first time the iPad has had a RAM upgrade since early 2012's iPad 3 - THREE generations ago.

The extra RAM could allow all sorts of new applications such as split screen multitasking and better background application support. Exciting stuff.

Split screen multitasking is a feature that is found on Touchwhiz and Windows 8 since a year or a bit ago. Is a RAM increase innovative? I don't think it is.

      • It is if introduced by Apple because it make the phone butterly smooth in performance and users will noticed a much better performance compare to older versions on the iphone.

Not sure what you're on, but iphone 6 and 6+ both have 1gig of RAM, unchanged from the previous model.

If the device only needs 1gig to perform at its optimal performance, why put in more? It will only increase the cost to the company and/or the consumer. Above is Bill Gates famous 1981 quote, but it was in reference to the times; Apple have shown they don't need to compete at a specs level to be successful, even with lower specs they are still outperforming their opposition in many area's.

Not that iPhone 6/6Plus are cheap to start with.

If you are referring to sales, a lot of that is to do with marketing. People love the brand.

        • @Peace Maker:

And why do people love the brand? One reason is that you can just use your device and not worry about being a spec whore who knows what USB debugging mode means.

Apple is not without its flaws and Android is not without its charms. Windows, on the other hand…

  • ios 8 can now be jailbroken, extra ram will be handy
