Hi,
I've got an iRiver, but I can't find a good light for it. They all reflect/bounce light. I'm considering replacing it (getting a Kobo Glo) but this is an expensive solution for some lighting.
Can anyone suggest a good portable light for it?

Awesome- cheers for that. So this splays/distributes the light evenly? Are you using it on an iRiver?
Yup. The refractor (?) is pretty good, good spill evenly on a page. I had a Kindle 3.
You could buy an energizer book light but why would you when the chinese have made identical copies of it and sell it for less than $3.
I think the thinner (CR2032 cell one) looks best. Batteries are fairly cheap (5x for $1 on eBay) so I'll be buying a few packs in advance. Cheers.
Just note the cheap CR2032 cells on eBay are usually of mediocre quality so you will have to replace them fairly often. I bought some crappy Pairdeer brand for my bathroom scales and they suck terribly.
These LED lights dim when the battery is at a low level (10%), as they probably lack circuitry to keep the light high when battery voltage drops, which is why it's a better idea to have rechargeable batteries. With non rechargeables, when they're dim you're tempted to chuck the batteries out (waste). With rechargeables you can top off the batteries when you see the light dimming.
We've actually been through about half a dozen of these. After a while the light developed an annoying flicker on all of them. Ended up buying some for around $10 at BigW and they've been going strong for over 12 months now
Ok very informative about the batteries. Guess mediocre quality is expected at $1 for 5 including post.
I'm wanting to buy 3 more e-ink readers, hoping to find some cheap.
I bought my iRiver HD for about $35 from Kmart (was on special)- any chance of me finding e-ink's for that kind of price?
feels like u need an anti glare screen protector
I have one of these.

They use 3 AAA batteries. Very bright, very long runtime. Pair it with Eneloops for maximum enjoyment.
There's also another variant that uses a CR2032 cell, won't last as long but it's a heck of a lot thinner.
