    Have this in the lounge room. Amazing picture and well worth $300. I paid $400 months ago and that was a bargain.

      I have a 720p Toshiba 32" from an OZ Bargain months ago, was an upgrade from the 68CM CRT we had but I feel I need something bigger and better now I'm in the big city

  • How would this go for casual PS4 gaming? Any noticeable response lag?

    • No, shouldn't be,

  • wonder how this compares with the kogan 40" LED….

  • -3

    42" refurb is cheaper

  • Does this have 3.5mm stereo output? I know it only says "Optical / Digital Audio Output: 1", but I have a little stereo I wouldn't mind hooking one of these up to, which unfortunately only have RCA input.

    • Yes it does have 3.5mm but no optical, coaxial

  • Would this make for a good computer monitor for gaming? Or is it too big to sit a meter away :)

    • I used my 42" TV (brand: Vivo or something) as a computer monitor for quite a while at about 75cm from my eyes. I got used to gaming on it, just needed to turn your head slightly sometimes to see into the corners. If you can set this 40" up at 1m I think it would work fine!

      Good luck

      • Thanks. What about browsing the internet and reading text? Is the text sharp like a computer monitor??

  • I have one of these. Maybe i'm blind but I can't see a quality difference between it and my samsung which cost three times as much.

    Works great with the xbox too.

    • Yeah the panel would be made by Samsung, apparently has a bit of over saturated red? Which is probably why they didn't make the QA cut at Samsung

      • After much tweeking, I've fixed the Red tint with the following settings (to reduce the red tint even more, raise the "Tint" level to 85+ or more (TINT setting below 50 raises the red colour)-

        In the normal service menu, set the following -
        Normal User Menu
        Picture Mode – User
        Contrast – 50
        Brightness – 50
        Colour – 50
        Sharpness – 100
        Noise Reduction – High
        Energy Savings – Standard
        Colour Temp
        Red = 0
        Green = 0
        Blue = 0

        Then close the normal service meun.
        Click "Source" button on remote.
        While in the "Source" menu, type "200912"
        This will reveal the hidden Service Menu.

        Picture mode
        Brightness – 137
        Contrast – 104
        Colour – 50
        Sharpness – 100
        TINT – 81

        W/B Adjust
        User
        Temp
        R – 108
        G – 132
        B – 140

        Offset all @ 1024

        Special Set
        Dynamic Backlight – 100

        Overscan
        All set to 0

        Colour Temp – User
        All set to '0'

        On TV channels that broadcast 1080, this Soniq TV is now even better than my $6,500 Sony 240 Hz TV! You'll be amazed at the result!

  • Pay the extra $100 and get the 48" Great for gaming. Some movies though the reds are way over exposed. Few people though have a few list you can follow to get the best picture out of it.
