It seems to be hard/impossible to get a bare 2.5" 2TB drive at the moment, but it might be possible to extract one from a portable unit. Any suggestions for the best, cheapest way to do it right now? eg. what model to use?

Thanks, it's relatively expensive though at $139 (staticice.com.au). Others are ~$120 and there have been previous bargains much less than that.

The others will be more than 9.5mm thick. $139 is OK, but it isn't a great deal and it has to be pre-ordered and picked up to avoid shipping charges. But there don't seem to be better offers on this drive at the moment (I've been looking). Officeworks has these in stock for $149.
What other options are there? ie what drives can be easily dismantled?
The Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB is the go-to drive for PS3s because it's regular thickness 2.5", check them out!
