After searching for a new electric toothbrush, I found this. I was originally after the Professional Care 1000. Turns out the Trizone 3000 is nearly identical (same oscillations & pulsations) and it can take the same round heads.

Got paid more than I paid in the Oral-B Cashback deals. Worth waiting for.
Bought a $99 Pro500 for half price at Woolies some time back, less 10% EDR Card promo, and Oral-B sent a $50 instead of $30 Cashback :-)
Can someone explain to me why it would be worth trading in my $5 manual toothbrush, for an electric one that costs 20x as much? Just curious!
They clean better. Well, that's what their scientific studies have shown. Since those studies were paid for by them I'd take it with a grain of salt, but I have yet to see a study (financed by a manual toothbrush maker) that claims the opposite.
But then you don't have to go to the $100 range of electric toothbrushes. When I bought my PC700 it was $49.95 with free shipping and I got it during the Ebay 15% off deal from shavershop. That made it only 8 times the price of your manual :-)
I do really feel that it's much better than manual and the worst part is the more expensive version the better
Oral b are running a campaign where you could try it and return if not happy. Personally using the professional care for about 10 years and highly recommend.
Yeah, I've been using an electric toothbrush for years. I could never go back to a normal toothbrush so long as I have access to power.
I might even jerry-rig up a solar panel so I can keep my pearly whites in pristine condition during the zombie apocalypse.
When out of power, reverts to a manual. :)
If you are not in a hurry- wait for the 5000 to go on special with a cashback. Trizone and normal heads are interchangeable. DSE had the 700 for $54 recently as well.
