Check NBN availability in your area — Unavailabe

    No deal…

  • What is the speed for adsl2+, let say 3km from the exchange?

    • Hi Andy,

You may check your internet speed on the website below
      http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/
It tells you the speed and exactly how far is your property from the exchange.

      Thanks
      Peter

      • yeah, i used to use TPG, it said up to 24Mbit, but yet only 3Mbit,

        • -1

          @Andyken

ADSL signal degrades quickly over the distance.
next to the exchange = about 21Mbit
          1km away = 10Mbit
          2km = about 6Mbit
          3km = about 2 to 3Mbit
          4km = 1.5Mbit
more than 4km = you are lucky to have ADSL signal.

Since the copper line network wasn't designed for the internet, signal loss is a sad ADSL fact of life. Since there is no signal repeater for ADSL, distance is your enemy.

NBN has repeater, so distance become less of a problem.

        • Hmm .. I am only 250 meters from the exchange on TPG ADSL2+ and am lucky to get 300Kb/s downloads. Is this normal as it is horribly slow :(

        • Hi Andy

That website that I provided is a guide for Netcube, it may not apply to all ISPs
Furthermore, I think TPG uses different line and they got their own infrastructure.

          Cheers
          Peter

        • @dogboy: Something is not right there . I live 3km from the exchange and I get 600kb/s. I would get TELSTRA to check it out.

        • @dogboy:

it may be congestion at the exchange (the supply pipe at the exchange is the slowdown, not the copper to you). Tell your neighbours to stop hogging the internet, or get TPG to feed your exchange more (good luck ;-)

..also even if you are 250m from the exchange by foot, telephone lines can go whacky ways and loop around a heap of streets to get you you.

        • @superkieu: those speeds and distances you quoted aren't even remotely correct.

http://www.internode.on.net/residential/adsl_broadband/easy_… - this is with 'perfect' copper, but is much more accurate than you claimed :P

        • @superkieu:

Strangely enough, my house is 4991m away from the exchange, but I'm syncing at 22652kbps with ADSL1 from iiNet. What gives?

        • @soupiejr: your most likely on a RIM…but that's not ADSL 1, its adsl2, max adsl1 is 8mbs

        • @wisc:

I called my ISP and they're adamant they don't provide ADSL2 to my area. It's iiNet, hopefully they knew what they were talking about.

I agree though, I'm most likely on a RIM since it would defy the laws of physics otherwise.

        • Thanks for the replies all .. going to run some speed tests and contact the ISP to try and get some resolution

        • @soupiejr: maybe you have one to many twos in the figure you provided then…as that speed is stupid fast 22mbps… You'd hardly get that speed next door to the exchange… Most ADSL 1 services only provide 1 MBS up…share your results on

          Link us your results.

        • @wisc:

          Here you go: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3850757774

This is at 9:45pm (primetime) and I'm syncing at 16083 at the moment. I'm getting 13.26 MB/s download speed, while I have tried 2 modems that have both reported sync speed of over 22,000 kbps before. My SNR margin is 17.1 (download) and 5.1 (upload) while my attenuation is 12 (download) and 6.8 (upload).

I'll try again later on tonight, after I resync past prime time.

        • @wisc:

Here's another one I did, later in the night: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3851284799

I'm syncing at 22,776 kbps and getting 17.32MB/s download speed. My SNR margin on the other hand has dropped to 6.1 (download) and 6.6 (upload) while my attenuation is 11 (download) and 6.6 (upload).

          What do you think?

        • @soupiejr: its ADSL2+ no doubt.. pretty impressive…

something weird is going on there if your only supposed to have ADSL1, whatever it is I'd be keeping quiet about it ;)
must be a rim virtually outside your door.

        • @wisc:

I am paying extra for iiNet to supposedly uncap the ADSL1 speed though. Does that make a difference?

  • +5

    Free Google account. Yippee

    • was about to say that exact thing…
free calls to mobiles included and unlimited data at that price point is pretty cool though.

would be interested to see the contention ratios though.

    • +2

That just means you don't have to deal with your ISP running their own (crappy) mail servers. :)

  • No naked…no deal.

    • +2

      Hi there,

We do have naked plans for both NBN and ADSL2+ for only 49.95 per month and they both come with a free modem if you sign up for 24 months.

      Cheers
      Peter

      • Is the ADSL2+ LITE plan a naked plan? It says "The service requires an active phone line which does not need to be provided by NetCube."

      • Selecting my address gives me an option for "OFF-NET" at $79.95

  • This screams of an affiliate deal, we need to log in with your dealer details?

    • Hi Poedgirl

I am an authorised dealer of Netcube, I have been given permission to submit this deal.

You can only get the deal I posted with my exclusive dealer code, you may not be able to receive the same offer if you just call up.

Call me directly if you need help signing up
      0458855815

      Thanks
      Peter

      • I'm quite happy with my iiNet connection thank you. I'd also never go with a company that hardly anyone even knows exists. Hell, there are only 4 threads on Whirlpool that even mention this company, one of which warns to exercise caution when approaching.

  • +1

who is this Australia's Largest Network Provider?

    • +3

      Tel-is-tra! LOL

      • confirm today - it is telstra

  • Are the included calls via landline or voip?
What is the wifi router available free on 24 month contract?

    • Hi Blackrose,

All phone calls are made via Voip,
On a 24 months contract you will receive a free Netcomm N300 with ADSL plans and Netcomm N600 with NBN connections.

      Cheers
      Peter

  • FREE set-up fee on on all 12 and 24 months contracts

Waive the lock-in contract itself, give us FREE unconditional setup and we can talk business. Till then, it's a neg from me.

FREE Google cloud storage - 15GB. FREE Google account

This is something every man and his dog (LITERALLY) can get directly from Google for free anyway and has nothing to do with you guys.

Marketing that as a 'benefit' on Ozbargain, home of the absolute most switched-on and 'ruthless' consumers (a.k.a "professionals") in Australia is a big BIG mistake.

I would give you a second neg just for that but I can't unfortunately.

    • to be fair, my mum would probably have no idea how to 'get' a google account, or set it up. Having someone do it for her would be a useful service to provide. (the service would be the setup though, not the google account itself, which as you've said is very obviously free for anyone any time).

    • Hi Ginmi,

Getting a free google means you will be getting an account with Netcube that is powered by Google.
For example, if you had an account with Netcube, it would be [email protected]

Just like any other providers, sometimes you see some people with email addresses that look like [email protected] or [email protected] and etc.
It is a great feature, because google gives free cloud storage, I dont think it is such a bad thing.

      Cheers
      Peter

      • Fair enough Rep.

You should change the description to make it clear that it is a google apps account, not your everyday Gmail.

As Google charges $5 p/m per user for this, getting it for free is an extra $60 a year in value. Pretty sweet.

        I've revoked my neg vote.

Do you offer NO CONTRACT plans? If so, what is the upfront cost?

        • Apologies Ginmi,

I should have stated it clearly, I will make the changes, thanks for your advise.

We do have no contract plans but there is a Setup fee of $149 and you will have BYO wifi router or purchase one from Netcube for $99. Personally i dont think that is a good deal.

Have a look at our one year contract, there is no setup fee.
Please feel free to ask me more questions, I am here to help.

          Thanks
          Peter

I agree. Much better deals out there than this with lower setup costs and no contract as well as unlimited data.

Here are just two options. One doesn't have unlimited data (but gives away free hardware) while the other does:
          http://spendinghacker.com.au/cheap-no-contract-broadband/

You need to do better rep. The setup cost on the 'no contract' option kills this deal for every true professional.

    • +2

Dont think its fair to neg a deal simply because you want a better deal.

      • I agree but the initial neg was not because I wanted a better deal.

Instead, it was due to the fact that I know for a fact that better deals are available, especially given it is an offer which comes with a lock-in contract. :)

    • +1

i think the google account on offer is a google apps account which is not free anymore. not much different from a free google account though

    • +1

agreed, pretty much every broadband provider offers the same deal, provided you sign a contract.

  • hi rep,

    1 MEGA TALK PLAN
$89.95 for NBN and ADSL2+ (Australia wide)
    Unlimited internet - No restrictions

I assume if there are no restrictions, then that means the speed is unrestricted too? so 100mbps down, 40mbps up on NBN?

    • Hi Salem,

Yup, there are no restrictions, but for this Mega Talk NBN plan you will be getting 25Mbps/5Mbps

      Thanks
      Peter

      • +1

oh, that's a shame. I don't actually want/need any phone service, just looking for the best deal 100/40 data plan. Do you guys have anything competitive for pure data at 100/40? TPG is unlimited data at 100/40 for $89.99 a month.

  • Rep,

Viet Nam has moved on from using landline.
hardly anyone uses landline anymore because it's more expensive than Mobile.
most people in Viet Nam are using Mobile phones now.

If you include calls to Viet Nam mobile, then I will switch today.

  • +2

I just checked their prices for standalone unlimited ADSL2 and it's super expensive. Much better off with Exetel, etc if you want to save some moola

  • Hi Rep,

I am from Mildura (zone 3) .. I am currently with Clubtelco (Telstra DSLAM).

Will this entertainment bundle have same price Australia wide or it will be dearer for zone 3..

Also , will your service would be at par with Clubtelco . If I am not satisfied what would be exit fees.

    Please let me know.

    Thnanks

    • Hi,

Hi Winfan, go to http://netcube.com.au/smarttv.php , put in your address on the website,
What you see is what you pay, no gimmicks just truly unlimited.

If you want to know what is speed that Netcube can offer, I am happy to check it for ya.

The maximum pay out is $350 thats all!

      Thanks
      Peter

  • Hi Rep

Thanks for posting this deal, i briefly saw it last time before it vanished, a couple of questions please ?

1 is this deal available for transfers ie rapid transfer or other ? time estimation for such ?

2 on speaking with support i enquired as to whether it was using AAPT network via Telstra network ? Please clarify

3 where do we find any feedback from customers on quality of ADSL on Netcube - zero posts on Whirlpool

Thanks in advance - appreciate the offer

    Looking forward to your reply

    • Hi there,

      1. It depends, by right all providers in Australia have to say this, the standard cut over time could take up to 20 working day but that doesnt really happen, normally the standard period is around 1 week or less in some cases but it could be only few hours downtime if you already have Telstra line in your property.

      2. Netcube's main provider is Telstra, they go through Telstra most of the time but in certain circumstances Netcube has to use AAPT due to the availability of the pots.

3 I believe no one has posted anything on whirlpool yet but this company has been around for more than 2 years and it has got a fairly large customer base.

I hope I have answered all your questions

      Thanks
      Peter

      • Thanks Rep

Mighty fine job of answering all questions, and then, maybe one more please ?

Seeing all calls are made via Voip ? Correct ? Are they made using the existing landline number via provided equipment or using the app ? i have checked website and have found no specific details

Thanks in advance for your reply

        • HI there,

Thanks for that, I am here to help :)

That is right ll calls are made via Voip, there are two ways to make phone calls

          1. Connect your home phone to the router and make calls directly.
          2. Download Netcube smart dialler onto your smart phone and make the calls anywhere you are as long as there's 3G, 4G or Wifi.

          Thanks
          Peter

  • +2

im allways little devious about new providers, so just to confirm, is netcube owned by novatel? and unlimited calls are on skype only??

  • -2

    "free Google account" LOL

    • +1

welcome to 3 and a half hours ago… might be an idea to search or read comments before posting something that was discussed hours ago!

  • "free Google account"

    LOL =)

  • "free Google account"

    lawl

  • Guys don't go by the cost of the service… heaps of cheap service providers available just reselling NBN or Telstra service but the quality of service is crap. Best to go with IINET or Optus.. it is comparatively expensive but the quality of service cannot be compromised.. you opt for cheap services and then have to be on the phones with tech support for ever

    • C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

  • +2

I used to have their ADSL before, I have to say that their technical support is not helpful at all. I have no internet connection for over 2 weeks, they don't care!! Went through TIO to resolve the problem eventually! Please beware this company!

  • it look like the 100/40 deal is cheaper then TPG + the other bonus
i have already sent a email for a call back
