I wish we could have a big OzB robot-vac meet-up and compare what we've all got.
I've got the cheapo Aldi $170 robot and think it's brilliant on my long carpet with pet hair and my long hair (which I seem to shed like crazy on a daily basis as well despite daily robot-ing lol). I'd really love to see how all these other robots compare! As yet, I'm not game enough to pull the trigger on a $400+ robot without seeing one in action IRL yet.
But the reviews of this one do sound promising…

I don't even know if you saw the above. Having disabled your account, I certainly don't know if you'll see this, but maybe you will.
On sites other than OzBargain - even ones that I have been quite active on in some way, I have a well-established pattern of drifting away (usually, ultimately, completely) from the comment sections. Actually closing an account, though, is not something that I have otherwise-ultimately felt compelled to do.
For a while now, I have been less involved in OzB. Still happy for a bargain, but for reasons of time (and not just irritations - those maybe shared by you), I have reverted - most of the time, anyway - to just following the RSS deal feed and only doing a site-click when and if, on a given day, something of specific interest appears. For me, that now largely averts the distraction of the live-feed, and the comments.

The Neato had some quality issues. First was the motherboard and now I think it has problems with a wheel. All the issues could be solved if you live in US, but from here is not so easy. Basically that's what has been stopping me from getting one.
I have bought 2 refurb Neatos, and they have worked flawlessly for months.
Bought a brand new one from the last Amazon deal and it screwed up after about a month, maybe 2.
No problems with voltage on these, just need a aussie plug adapter?

I bought one of these in the last cheap sale they had for $340 in June. The LCD screen has failed on it after 4 months. I would be wary of purchasing one of these. Once it leaves the USA the warranty is void. This is from emails back and forth to Neato Robotics.
Luckily the machine is still running, just can't see anything on the lcd screen. Apart from that it is fine.

You think I could try contacting them? I don't know what they can do if Neato Robotics themselves say the warranty is void because the product has left the country.
I contacted them when I kept getting a battery error and they said you have to go to Neato.
Neato gave me the same response - can't fix it out of the country.
I got partial refund for the battery issue - I contacted them within a week though. Someone got a replacement unit with zero extra cost. Maybe Amazon only covers the warranty in the first month?
My brother got one from amazon which was doa. Amazon paid the $250 auspost cost to ship back plus refund but think there is time limit
Similar thing happened to me (wasn't doa but it had problems after a week), Amazon paid for the ridiculous return shipping costs and also sent a replacement model before I had even sent them mine. I believe the time limit is 1 month.

Quite disappointed. Finally reached a price I was willing to buy at and Amazon stops shipping to Australia.

Use one of them forwarding services but only problem is is u have to return it if it dead on arrival you have to pay cost.
i think its been that price for a while (or at least it has been in the past) .. i've got a price notification to tell me when it hits the price i'm willing to pay for it .. and its not quite there yet :S
