Ergobaby 360 Carrier - Black-Camel $159.19 from Babies R Us

100

It's about $70 off RRP. Having just had a newborn, I was looking at carriers. Many of my friends have recommended Ergobaby over some of the other brands. This is I believe one of the later models. Description can be found via the link. It's the cheapest price I've found for this model so far. They weren't doing it this cheap at the baby expo I went to in August. Hope this helps some other parents looking to save some money.

If you have a gift card elsewhere you might want to get the store to price match it.

Can you get ones that go on the back rather than front? So you don't have to look at the ugly thing all the time?

Dad of the year right there!

        I drive a Camry RZ.

      That's not a very helpful comment. :/

But FYI: ◾4 carry positions front, back, hip and outward-facing front carry

      • In all seriousness, though, carrying stuff on your front is not good for your back.

Ergos are great. They distribute all the weight to your hips, so they are easy on your back and neck - not like some of the others.

    • Sounds like your little one inherited your unsavoury looks…maybe they will be the funny one in the group?

    • Kid called Kuato?

  • Be advised, try the newborn in it first before splashing out the $160. Carriers can be a very individual thing!

  • I've got this and so far love it. Be sure to buy the newborn insert too if you want to use it before 6 weeks old.

  • I've got one of these. My kid was 3 months old and didn't need a newborn insert. It depends on the size of your child. BTW. if you are buying this carrier to carry your child on your back. Watch the Youtube video first. I've never put my child on my back with this carrier. And probably never will. It looks like a risky procedure. But that might be just me.

I'm happy to answer questions if that helps anyone.

    • Nope that's the original carrier. Same brand different model

  • A couple of things (referencing a number of comments made so far):

    • This is a really good retail price. Don't think I've seen better.
    • Ergobaby carriers do not distribute all the weight to your hips. They help distribute the weight across your shoulders and your hips, so that the weight isn't all on your shoulders (like some other carriers that do not have the hip support).
    • The Ergobaby 360 has a maximum load of 15kg, all other Ergobaby models are 20kg.
    • The front outward facing position in the 360 is only meant to be done for up to 10kg/12mths old.
    • Newborn inserts are recommended for up to 4+ months (depending on size)
    • There are a number of different techniques for doing back carry - the first one I knew about seemed a bit scary/awkward, but I learnt another way which feels much more comfortable. To each his/her own, so look around and find something that works for you/your baby.
    • If buying second hand try to ensure you're getting a genuine model (original packaging/invoice etc). Due to their popularity (and price?) there are reports of counterfeits floating around, and some of these have inferior materials and are more susceptible to failure (have heard stories of a buckle breaking on one). Ergobaby carriers seem to hold their value reasonably well though, so you'd probably still be looking at around $100+ for a used one.
    • 360s in particular are very popular at the moment (they're new to Australia this year) so you may struggle to find stock in some outlets. There's a grey (colour) version which seems to be more popular (ie harder to find) than the black.

FWIW I researched baby carriers before bub came, narrowed down to Ergobaby and Manduca, and eventually went with Ergobaby. Started with a Performance, subsequently sold to change to a 360 and recently added a Ventus. Also did some demonstrations of Ergobaby carriers at a recent baby related expo.

Best suggestion would be to try one of these on for yourself if you have a chance. I'm in Brisbane (southside) and would be happy to chat with / demo the carriers I have to any locals who might find that handy. Those in Melbourne there's a PBC expo happening next weekend where Ergobaby carriers will be present. Assuming this sale is still on then you can probably get them to price match.

  • Thanks for posting this. Can we buy this in store?
I was thinking to pricematch with mybabywarehouse. Have anyone tried to do pricematch with them?

    • Could always try calling them up to check. I price matched it with DJ online (which we had gift cards for) without any problems.

      • Yes, you're right. BTW, seems like DJ does not have it in stock online

        • They did when I bought it. Possibly they had low stock though? Had to email them to price match. Takes them half a day to a day to respond for future reference.

  • Anyone know if I can get the insert at a good price? :)

  • Does anyone have a receipt for price match?

Damn, got to this deal a month late. Now at $239.95

    • Ditto!

      • Just bought a decent second hand Ergobaby off Ebay last night though - $90 delivered. Plenty on offer (some new)

  • What's the best price for this now? Best I can find is $209 with free shipping. Anyone find anything better?

  • If anyone is looking for the Ergobaby infant carrier and/or teething pads, they can currently be found here at 60 % off: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/171571 Also picked up 2 x ergo pouches at a great price.
