Do they make 3D contacts so you don't need to use the glasses ????

    • Yes. One contact is free, you must buy the other one at twice the price.

Bit of a process to get these. You have to go and make an appointment for a fitting/trial then order them to get it. Also, some more T&C here:

"Promotion begins 9:00am AEST on 13th October 2014 and ends 7 December 2014. Offer open to Australian residents aged 18+. One claim per person.Purchase must be in the same transaction (and same optometrist) as contact lens prescription. Invoice number required for claim. Vouchers valued at $50-$78 (depending on session time) and valid until 30 April 2015."

Since my optometrist is Specsavers this leaves me high and dry (eyes).

  • How will the invoice number be verified? Seems like a lot of effort for someone at Acuvue to individually try to contact stores individually and there's no ability to upload a receipt.

I know that my optometrist charges contact lenses around 3 times more than what I get online (aalens). It seems to be more like a hassle than a quick and easy deal?

Has anyone bought the lenses and how much did they charge?

As to free movie tickets, hoyts tiks can be redeem from http://www.ninerewards.com.au/ just complete the surveys.

    • As you already get contact lenses, then you wouldn't be able to tick this box anyway?
"I am a new contact lens wearer and I confirm that I have never worn contact lenses before and I agree to all the Terms & Conditions."

    • Clearly contacts is much cheaper for 1-day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism. They charge $26.00 per pack and usually you can get free shipping on various size orders, sometimes no minimum. Also, claimable on PHI for some funds.

  • mine have been dispatched.

  • Thanks OP! Was planning on buying contacts the other day and at the last minute searched for Acuvue on OzBargain and found this. Got an email today to say they had been dispatched, and then got home to find they had been delivered (Registered Post).

Seems like the bargain post missed the most important qualifier:

"Never worn contact lenses? For a limited time ACUVUE® is giving away 2 Gold Class cinema vouchers to those who (for the first time) complete a contact lens trial and purchase ACUVUE® Contact Lenses^ from their optometrist."
