Focus Group - Need Advice

Hi,
I am looking for OZbargainers feedback who has been doing focus group job.
I offered by a company to do focus group for 3 sessions in one day ( one session will last for 45 minutes).
Lunch is provided by them.
They will pay me $245.00 (travel fee inclusive)
From where I live to the location - I will need to either drive for 50 minutes or take train for 1,5 hour.
(Train will cost me $23.00 for a return trip)
The job will be on a weekday thus I will need to take an annual leave from work.

I just never been into a focus group work before and don't know what to expect- is it a hardwork job or isit considered as easy money?
will you take the job if you were me?

    Less Travel Expenses ($23.00)
    Net Revenue $222.00

    Total Time:
    Travel 3hr 0min
    Focus Sessions 2hr 15min
    Lunch and Breaks 0hr 45min
    Total Time 6hr 00min

    Net Revenue/Time $37/hr

    For 6 hours of your life gone, that you'll never get back, $37/hr is good compensation. Especially if you're being paid to eat on this calculated basis.

    Edit: For extra fun, determine the "worth" of that extra day leave, is it worth more than $222.00 to you? If so, reject the offer. If not, enjoy getting paid for 1 day annual leave plus $222.00 for sitting around in focus groups and getting lunch bought for you!

    It's easy, you just go there and they ask questions to the group and you give you opinions and you get free food and drink

    I reguarly take part in focus groups (About 12 this year alone!) & have for a number of years. Great little earner.

    Every focus group I have ever attended I have always enjoyed with some being incredibly interesting. I'm an inquisitive soul & so like hearing about certain brands future ideas, apps, products etc.

    You get to meet interesting/quirky people along the way too. I would definitely recommend it.

    My best one was attending Arsenals Emirates football ground in London for 45mins, $250 & a huge free buffet breakfast too. Although that is no way the norm!

    I have done a couple. Very easy. Just sit there and they ask you yes/no questions and what you like/dislike. One I just had to sit and taste drink products and fill out a survey. And they do all seem to pay really well. Great for a student who does not have a job.

    I love focus groups too! Easy money if you ask me. Last week I got paid for one in my own home and the presenters never turned up (they were running late!). Very easy money that one :) Go for it I say (if its easy to get a day off from work that is).

    Strikerzebra, there are loads of companies out there…Google is your friend. Ones I can recall off the top of my head Alta, RealResearch, Farron, Opinion something?, Holistic?.

    Easiest & most enjoyable way of making money some decent pocket change IMO
