Bought Item from DealsDirect.com.au Have Not Heard Anything

Hi guys, recently I bought this Sandisk v-mate sd video recorder from deals direct, a great deal down from $100 to $30 including postage. I payed on paypal, but since then have not heard anything from deals direct apart from my initial pay pal receipt and junk mail. What is the story? Is deals direct reputable? Why have I received no postage information or confirmation of order from them? I emailed them asking, and received an automated response telling me my enquiry will be looked at and it was low priority. The item is on the below link:

  • I've bought a few things from them, always arrives pretty quick but the stuff I've bought has been pretty poor quality.

  • I tracked down the package. Dealsdirect sent me no shipping information. When I finally got it from them, I found out that the idiot couriers at CouriersPlease, had returned the package to sender. Apparently the courier was unable to read, and could not find my address, despite having the correct address, and despite every other courier service finding my address without a problem. The worst thing is, CouriersPlease have done this twice to me in the last month. Do not use them.

  • Deals Direct supply cheap stuff at low prices. The situation you descibe has happened to me TWICE!…once when I was in the front yard all day, working on the garden…if a courier came he must have been invisible.
I have bought say 20 items over the years from them, some OK, some crap. In past years they would give a credit to make up for the inevitable screw ups, but they don't do this anymore.
The last item I bought was a BBQ on a half price EBAY deal…it arrived with a dent in the lid. I didn't even bother to follow up, because as you have just found, their customer service is non existant.
Good luck with your item…check it out thoroughly when and if, it arrives!

  • I contacted the state marketing manager, the state manager and the customer service manager at Couriers please. I wrote a nice email to them:

Dear Gary, Darren, Dharshi and Kate,

Hello, my name is xxx, and I have been waiting for a package to be delivered to my address. Upon finding the tracking number (xxxxxxx), I find that your courier has listed the item as: Insufficient address. This is the second time in a month that I have had an item marked as insufficient address from Couriers Please, when in fact the address has been perfectly valid. The only thing that appears to be insufficient is the comprehension of your courier, who either cannot read an address or has an inability to program a Sat Nav. Every other courier service has no problem delivering items to my address, yet Couriers Please seems to be incapable of actually doing the simple function that I have payed for (twice). It astounds me that a courier company is incapable of the simple task of delivering items; its sole reason for existing. The last item I was able to chase up before it was returned to sender, and drove to your Port Melbourne facility to pick it up, but I fear this item may have already been returned to sender. Can you please advise me on my item, as you can see from the tone of this email that I am more than a little annoyed. It appears that your courier has read my postal address as xxxxxxx (a set of townhouses), where as the actual address (as supplied) is xxxxxxx (a house). Not a particularly easy mistake to make, as the two addresses are within 50 metres of each other.

(I supplied a map with arrows on for the courier.)

Surely if your courier cannot find the address they are supposed to deliver an item too, they would actually check the address? I have not been contacted by CouriersPlease regarding this item, and would appreciate if you followed this item up.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you

I got three return emails. One was an automated response from the state manager saying he had resigned, one from the marketing manager saying he was on holiday, and a third email from the customer service manager saying he was going to follow it up. It was on a truck at 9:30am this morning, and I am waiting to see if it was actually delivered when I get home. The tracking says that the package was 'authorised to leave' (I didn't authorise anything, so I don't know where that came from). I hope it is there in one piece.
