Dummy Flight Booking for Visa

Hi OzBargainers,

Just wondering if anyone knows where you can get a dummy flight booking for visa purposes? My friend wants to travel to Europe (not Australian passport) in December, and as a requirement for the visa she'll have to produce a return ticket, but if she doesn't get the visa the tickets are non-refundable. So it's the classic chicken and egg situation. (She also wants to do a multi-stop thing as she goes along and being locked-in this early is a bit too risky.) Are there any travel agencies that do dummy bookings or airlines that gives full refund?

    Travel agent should be able to help you. Visit travel agent and tell them dates. And ask them to send you itinerary. and thats it..

      Thanks for the reply, but the consulate requires a ticket, itinerary doesn't cut it.

    Is the return ticket required for the Visa application? Surely it'll just need to be seen upon arrival in Europe?

    Booking flights without the appropriate Visa would be a bit of a risk to say the least.

      Yes, the return tickets are a hard requirement, hence the chicken and egg.

    The qantas website has flex fares that seem like you can cancel them without penalty for a full refund:

    Cancellations (including no show)
    Before departure:
    Except where no show fee applies:
    Full refund.

    Best to call qantas cust care and verify. Best of luck!
