Heads up for anyone who buys the H-Wood brand men's shoes. They are a very small fit. A 13 is equivalent to an 11

    • Help (from everyone) please?

There's a few positive votes on this comment.. but the iconic tells you "this shoe runs small based on our customer reviews" IF applicable. Some H-Woods show up as running small. Plenty don't.

Have you tried a few H-woods? Do they all run small?
Or did you buy dress shoes, boots, whatnot?

A little more info from everyone please..

      • I bought these http://www.theiconic.com.au/Benz-Lace-Shoes-152499.html
I am normally a 12US in Julius Marlow shoes, bought these in 12US and were tiny. Exchanged them for a 13US, the biggest size they have and they are still quite tight. Only worn once so far so hoping for a little stretch. By the way, The Iconic are fantastic for returns/exchanges etc.

  • 1 x Dunlop Volleys Winterized ($12), 1 x Julius Marlow Dapper 2 ($38.98) minus - Cashrewards (16% discount, credited to cashrewards account) - Newsletter ($10 discount) = $34.43 delivered!

I'm curious about that… the wording on the Cashrewards website seems to suggest if you use any coupon code (which the Newsletter discount is) that you'll only be eligible for 2% back… hopefully that's not the case!

      • damn…here's hoping…

      • +1

        False hope.

It is indeed the case. Use a coupon not listed and it's 2% cash back for new customers instead. It's clearly written in the special terms:

"New customer using a coupon not from this site: 2.00%"

        https://www.cashrewards.com.au/the-iconic

So expect about an 82c cash back eventually maybe in a few months. 2 months later (from early August 2014) and i'm still waiting for cash backs to clear through cashrewards.com.au so it is very slow to receive them. On the page it says it can take up to 90 days (about 3 months) to receive a cash back payment.

        • That's some sobering news right there.

they're not dunlop volleys, they're "volley" brand. Will be a bad imitation I think

      • got one and didn't notice were not the original…in any case was in need of cheap shoes…but a bit annoyed

      • +2

Can they really be as 'bad' as Dunlops? Geez, if I get 6mths out of them I'll be happy.

    • I'll tell you now you won't be getting 16% cash back. You'll be getting 2% cash back. Why you may ask?. Because you used a coupon code (namely the unique $10 discount coupon) not listed on the cashback web page at Cashrewards.

Adjust your calculation to more like around $40.17 is what you'll actually have paid with the 2% cash back factored in. So don't get your hopes up thinking you've only paid $34.43.

      • Ah well, I'd consider that a pretty decent bargain anyways, thanks for the calculations.

      • It's confirmed, pending 16% cashback :) http://imgur.com/UsFc1aq

        • Expected cash back and the actual cash back you get in the end are two different things.

        • @hollykryten: You're like that cranky teacher that ruins it for everyone! I'll update this thread once I have confirmed the amount I received.

1 x CK Bold Stripe Cuff Socks ($11.87), 1 x Julius Marlow Antony shoe ($38.98) minus $10 off by newsletter signup discount = $40.85 delivered. Bargain!. Didn't really bother with the Cashrewards cashback it's only 2% when using the unique $10 discount coupon which is only about 80c cash back and takes months to receive them any way.

Going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and had forgotten my black shoes just aren't up to it. Saw this and nice pair of Julius Marlow at a significant discount. I have trouble finding size 13 as well. Now I am retired and only need black shoes for weddings and funerals they should last me for 20 years. Well done.

    • You don't wear black dress shoes only to weddings and funerals can be any where. I bought a pair of Julius Marlow as well in size 13. In my case might be jury service in a few weeks so need good shoes.

      • Thanks for that advice.

Actually the jury members I have seen have been dressed in all sorts as well. (Jury of your peers and all that)

Perhaps this wasn't the bargain we thought if we didn't need it.

Actually I am pleased with it. Finding decent shoes in our size at a reasonable price isn't easy. Usually by the time they are reduced in price there are only the smaller sizes left.

I subscribed to the newsletter but never got any email. Does it take some time?

Nevermind, it was chrome, I signed up using firefox instead.

  • Bought the Julius Marlow Algiers last week and received them. Bought a size 12 but they're a very large fit so maybe look at buying a smaller size.

My delivery came yesterday - excellent packaging and great quality shoes (both pairs). Shoes were a great fit too, so I was lucky. Cheers again OP - Massive bargain!
