Hong Kong is hopeless buying an iphone6.
I've try to post one to my brother in HK at post office.
However, Australia Post said they won't let me to due to there's battery inside.

I'm baffled why they don't let you send them, there is no difference between a phone in a sack in the cargo or a customer playing with a phone on the airplane.
the issue is due to the Li Ion battery on the phone.
It is always known that if you have a Li Ion package, they will not let you ship it unless you have some kind of special permit.
if you have to ship a Li Ion electronic, they need to be separated, but since nowadays most phones are unibody, so legally, you can not ship it.
You can say that you are shipping something else other than the phone, but you are running a risk of getting it confiscated if it get caught.
The difference between phone with passenger and phone in a cargo is that if something happen with the phone, the passenger can take care of it, but phone in cargo, no one watch them. that's why.
u can get it from China in few days
China (iphone) is Different with HK.
Ya, why the rush? I am sure they will be a lot of stocks in HK once China launch happens as those buyers that smuggle the phones into China to sell will no longer do that.
just say you removed the battery for postage. it works for me
I recently tried to send a camera to China via AusPost and they refused when I answered 'yes' to whether it contained a lithium battery.
I went straight to another AusPost branch in the next suburb, put the camera in a 'toughbag' which costs $1.50 at AusPost and said it was a gift. There was no declaration form required.
It costed $12.25 to ship to china plus $1.50 for the toughbag.
And I didn't put my name on the "From" side of the package so they can't fine me lol.
Will they mail it for you without a from? Better put in fake name and contacts. Then, if it got lost in transit, you got no recourse.
Hi have you tried China post? But as far as I know they wont let you ship batteries as well
