Bargain! Air New Zealand today announced a $600-off code for business flights to North America. I tried this code for their economy fares, and bingo, it works for San Francisco!! Plenty of seats across different dates.

Test dates I used for these fares for all 3 departure points:

Depart Nov 18 2014, Return Dec 5 2014.

All flights include 23kg checked baggage, 7kg carry-on bag, meal & drinks, on-demand entertainment.

For Travel:
17 Nov to 16 Dec 2014
23 Dec to 31 Dec 2014
12 Jan to 15 Mar 2015

        $1150 as far as I know is as cheap as you will generally get flights to the USA - bar super crazy deals.

      Flights to or going through the US should be protected by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) that usually forces airlines to honour mistake airfares. This one isn't huge in the scheme of things like the RGN mistake airfares in Business and First Class.

    Great deal - I wish I had the leave to use!

    I've found flights from Perth to LA for $1289 (date 7 to 21 Feb). That's so cheap. I had found some for $1130 but they disapeared

    Edit: Using the Biz600 code, the flights in Feb come down to $989! That's crazy cheap.

    I booked the Qantas A380 $873 return (SYD-LAX) back in 2012 thinking that Qantas would cancel it.
    They didn't and had a great holiday.
    Am mighty tempted to do the same again here, despite having to transit through Auckland.

          or you could learn how to use a basic web site like air nz's….
          enter some dates, select the option to search '3 days either side' then scroll around in all directions till you find a price you like

    I just searched BIZ600 with economy from SYD-SFO on those dates you mentioned and it gives no discount. The code NAM300 does work though.

    What's going on? Was the BIZ600 working on these dates a bug?

      The biz code should have only worked for business class flights, not on economy.

      Just checked, confirmed that the discount code no longer works. Luckily i booked mine yesterday :) thanks again to TA for letting us know about the deal. Very excited for my trip!

      I booked SYD-SFO 10th - 22nd Feb for the $860 price at 9:27am CST. Just checked the same dates again though and cheapest I could see was over $1400, so it appears the BIZ600 code is no longer working.

    AirNZ had the deal last week for flights from AUS to LAX for about $800-900 depending on departure city.

    I think this code along with the NAM300 are just selling off what didn't sell in that sale.

    It took me ages to find flights that were on sale but ended up getting BNE - LAX for $858rt end of Jan to Mid Feb.

    Just keep looking, I found around my dates that were down to $1059.

    In case something like this comes up again, does anyone know what the charge might be, if you leave Australia with the allowable carry on luggage only - and then on the return flight came back with a guitar in a hard case? And how about 3 of them - would it just be 3x the price of 1? Or you wouldn't even be allowed to bring 3 on the return trip?

    If anyone is still looking, I have a fare hold for two adults traveling out 11th Feb and returning 1st march. Melbourne-san Fran. Comes to 1864 total. The fare hold is only til midnight tonight. Pm if interested

    Thought I'd revive this and add the sale now ends 19th November.

    The BIZ600 code no longer works on economy seats.
