Singapore Airlines Points

Hi, I've booked our honeymoon travelling Brisbane through to Athens with Singapore Airlines (codes are with Turkish Airlines for final small stint). Then back Athens to Melbourne.

My question is how can I go about getting points for a possible business upgrade for some portions. I've booked and paid already, so hoping I co accumulate some points and then add to my booking.

I will be flying next June.

Heard Kris Flyer is great for our flight, any pointers. I'll be getting a Citibank card for my overseas spending etcetera.

    I enquired about this the othet day as I had just booked cheap saver flights to Europe, apparently your economy ticket needs to be. 'Flexi' fare for you to do this. I called the Krisflyer contact number.

    If you've got some Velocity Points then there is the possibility of converting them to Krisflyer next month.

    Provided you have booked in the allowable class, for a one way upgrade for 2 people ATH/BNE you would need a minimum of 120000 Kris flyer points.
    Not available for codeshare flights.
    Using an Amex Plat Edge card you would therefore need to spend $120000 to get the points.
    You could purchase a preferred seat but remember the bulkhead seats have basinettes and you could be stuck with a screaming kid for 13 hours and some emergency exit seats cannot be reclined

    Alright then, how do I go about getting silver or gold star alliance status for lounge access? I've seen the Aegean low threshold loopholes but Australian Business Traveller reports that it closed 1 week ago…

    I've also just applied for citibank plus and 28 degrees credit. Any credit card give lounge access for reasonable rates. Would have to be low fee and good reward program to make it worthwhile.
