Hubby and I are looking to join swimming classes / take lessons. We have pool in our house but we don't know swimming. We recently moved to Sydney (hills suburb) from Unit in Perth.so trying to get some idea here as how much does swimming lesson costs? On avg appro how many lessons are needed to learn basic swimming jyst based on your experience to give us rough idea. Any recommended classes in baulkham hills area?

I'm a learn to swim instructor with a council pool and a private place and the prices are around $17/person if in a group lesson. I think private lessons were something like $35-40/30 min, I can't remember off the top of my head but most swimming lessons should be around that price.
Some people learn faster than others depending on how well they take to the water and prior experience, etc so it's hard to say. The pool on Mileham Ave that has produced some pretty good swimmers.
How on earth do two people not know how to swim in this day and age? And more importantly, what are the chances of two people who don't know how to swim finding each other?
Not everyone live near the beach especially peoples from overseas, human are not born naturally to be able to swim.
I would call up the local swimming pool. Almost all have swimming lessons, from kids to adults. Normally direct debit, I have not checked the price for a while. Was $20-$25 per half an hour case.
