    • That's where I used it :)

  • Looks like some enterprising ebayer is trying to cash in on this offer - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-Discount-Vouchers-For-Event-Cin…. So much for sharing a free bargain.

    • This guys selling a lot of discount vouchers…probably his primary income. Hopefully no one buys.

    • What a scum, if you look at their other listings, it's pretty much for discounted vouchers.

Check out the feedback, one person gave them a neutral:

Found this Voucher Online for Free the Next Day
SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium 2 FOR 1 ATTRACTION PASS vouchers Sealife (#121390923007)

Next this guy will probably try and sell an OzBargain membership

      • So far has $47.40 in sales on these crappy coupons…how could people be so stupid to buy them!

Can find most with a quick google search!

  • Parra just told me its a "scam"

  • Not working at Hurstville requires some special stamp…

    • +1

      What special stamp?
      Sounds odd!

      • Working at beverly hills

George st said it's a leak and that they are not allowed to accept those vouchers any more.

Sister tried it on Monday at George st and it worked without any issues.

    • What does that even mean…a leak???

It doesn't have any terms and conditions on the voucher…??

      • The people running the cinemas are idiots. What would they rather have - a cinema full of people that paid $8 each or running it at less than a quarter capacity with their ovepriced tickets?

        • +1

Very true, fact is the voucher is out, so not much we can do. I suppose they hope that people say, oh crap, can't we use it? Then I'll pay the full $17 or whatever it is now. Personally I wouldn't do that but I think most would.

I would just go to my phone and quickly buy some telstra rewards tickets :)

          @treeman:

That's exactly what we did. Ozbargainers think alike :D

        • @penguinator:

          Hehe yes!

  • Not accepted at Macquarie anymore, seems like the staff has been notified.

  • Going to the movies tonight at George street hope it works, if not back to the entertainment book for Saturday's and Telstra Sunday's.

Just got rejected at Marion in SA, though they accept printed versions, just not off the phone. Nice to see Event Cinemas are thinking of the environment.

  • I just tried at Robina (Gold Coast QLD) and they recognised the forms and immediately asked which retailer I work for - turns out these were handed out by the Cinema (so they are not a scam) but for the use of particular retailer staff, and the white box above the bar code is supposed to have the retailer name there.

Since I didnt know what they were talking about, I was honest and said I got it from a coupon site. They said they shouldn't accept it (since it was not sourced through the intended channel), but that they would give me my 3 tickets at that price.

In the end it was a lot of hassle for a mere $9 saving (3x$3). Id much rather book online for $11, choose my own seats with a few clicks, and skip lining up in a queue with ~20 people ahead of me.

    • -1

$11 tickets? Mine show as $18.50?

      • +1

They are talking about through telstra rewards tickets.

  • I just used this for 2 to gone girl… On a sat night a castle him.. Guy look at it n was like yup let me enlarge it to scan :) #winning

  • Sydney George st rejected it tonight. said its a scam. they did accept it 4 days ago though.

    • :/ really ?? Was planning to go there tomorrow >.<

  • Got rejected at Morley Galleria one on Saturday too.

Worked tonight - 2 tickets to see Son of a Gun + Cinebuzz :)

edit: I had printed them out and handed the staff the 2 coupons hand torn.

  • didn't work at Macquarie centre, manager refused.

Does anyone know the retailers that are linked to these ones? I'm going to try next week, but I don't like my chances by the sound of it :|

  • Rejected at Marion Cinema this afternoon. Apparently there is meant to be a retailer code in the box and as it is missing they won't accept it.

I'd previously had it accepted at the same cinema though.

  • Rejected at Miranda Event Cinemas (I was told they were only accepting vouchers which had "Miranda" in the blank box on the actual voucher.

  • Rejected at George St Event Cinemas

  • Worked at Tuggerah today

  • Hey guys I know Parra is out of the picture can someone update me on Liverpool?

  • Didn't work when I tried at Beverly Hills, apparently the empty box above the barcode required a business name to identify who offered the sponsored tickets.

  • Tried to use it at Event Cinemas Hornsby. The counter guy said the voucher had to have a name stamped in the blank box, otherwise its a fake voucher.

  • +1

Yep same for me no name no good. Fake. They knew all about ozbargain and where I got it from

    • lol really? I don't think they were fake…I may be wrong..but think they were targeted to maybe some business that they do deals with.
If they were fake the barcode would have never scanned in.
