  I would suggest people go, look at and more importantly, smell the shoes in-store first.
  I have had poor experiences, buying Rivers shoes that smelt really bad. I expected the strong plastic/vinyl/whatever smell to disappear, but it did not. I then had committed my self to a product, I felt embarrassed to wear, due to the really strong pong. Be warned.

    Last 3 pr returned as soles fell of after very little use. Glue on soles not water proof :-(
