Hi guys
just thought will ask this question as we are obviously getting more items from DSE and at least in the west we are at the mercy of Startrack to deliver our items.
I am not complaining about the delivery times but the one thing that pi$$es me of is the fact that they give a delivery window of 9am to 5pm which means I had to take the whole day off for the delivery. Tried to convince the Startrack lady on the phone to put in a note so that the driver would call me ½ an hour before the delivery but she was not very helpful. I have to admit though that they have done this for me in the past.
Usually it is not a problem as I get stuff delivered to my work address but it is when expecting the delivery for a 65” TV which is way big to handle.
Would love to hear how other people handle the situation with Startrack other than taking a sickie :)
Best way to handle a Startrack delivery

Call again in hope of getting a different operator, try again a third time. Then ask the fourth why they can't do it as they used to. There might have been a change of policy. Then E-Mail the MD or Ops Mgr and say it sucks and to change it back. Tell others to, post the E-Mail address on here for others to petition also.
They will change it back if enough complain.
Otherwise next time put your 'Deliver to Name' as "Call Me 30Mins Before Delivery on 041xxxxxxx"
I did try a few times yesterday morning.. it doesn't help when the hold times are around 25-30 minutes.. I did also ask them about the change of policy but the answer was a moking "No.. we were always this way"
Good idea about the email and a petition.
May be I should try changing my name to "Call Me 30Mins Before Delivery on 041xxxxxxx" Great IDEA..
Doubly irritating for the $2 styluses the other day. JUST PUT THEM IN MY MAILBOX!
Mmmm, yeah. I have to drive 20km to pick mine up. I won't be able to get there until Wednesday, so I'm not sure how long they will hold them there.
How stupid is it to be paying a courier to deliver them anyway? Surely it must be costing them money.
Austpost now owns Startrack. They are now being tight ass .they dont care anymore.they trying to minimise expenditure to look good when they resell…they have hundreds of pallets of freight at the depot but dont want to employ people.
Get ready for more delays on your freight and hear all the excuses.I use this!
http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/parcel-collect.html?ecid=…
I also use the parcel lockers for smaller items…works very well. Free to sign up and free to use.
Somewhere in the T&Cs state that they don't accept parcels needing signature but Startrack does not have an issue with it, if they are owned by Auspost then that maybe the reason.
Parcel collect also allows you to nominate which post office you want in case your nearest one does not open weekends which is really handy.
Just be aware that Toll will not deliver to either as I found out when my OO.com.au stuff never came..they just held it at the depot. Zanui use Toll as well.
I talked to the driver who delivered my TV. He was saying he went into all the trouble of looking my name on the whitepages and tried calling me. Of course it had my old number that telstra has not changed yet.
Anyway my point is that how hard is in this day and age for the company to pass on our mobile numbers or automate the delivery so that they can send an SMS with the click of a button.well that's really good service from the driver though, how many people would be bothered to look up a number at all.
True.. But how inefficient is DSE/ Startrack that they cant put our listed mobile no on the delivery notice.
Call them to stay put, and you'll come and pick it up yourself. Sometimes you just have to do it yourself.
