And if you do buy AppleCare, don't pay full retail price for it — you can buy it for MUCH cheaper off eBay (just be careful who you buy it off, of course). Personally, I'm happy to rely on the extended warranty coverage provided by my Visa Platinum credit card.

This deal is best for people in need of a new computer in the immediate future, as Apple's notebooks are due in for a refresh within the next three months.
My personal favourite would be the low-end 13" MacBook Pro for $1710. You'd be hard pressed to find a competing well-equipped notebook with its luxury feature set (backlit keyboard, 7hr battery life, block aluminium design) for that price.
Gotta agree there! Working on a new 15inch MacBook Pro right now. These are sweet machines and if you buy now you get the newly released Snow Leopard operating system as well.

With Apple expecting to make an announcement of new products this week someone needs to be buying the old models
